  1. These walks are playing with fire.
  2. Always a good idea to walk a guy to get to Olson and Ocuna.
  3. Nothing like walks. They love putting guys on base.
  4. Can't have out best hitter in the lineup because there's a lefty on the mound. Had our smartest man in the room managed years ago, he would have had Barry Bonds, Ted Williams, Babe Ruth platooning because they were lefty hitters.
  5. Not at all. He's probably the 3rd best option. Flaherty can look really good sometimes.
  6. AJ knew about it the whole time and went along with it and did nothing to stop it. He even said the accusations were a joke in a press conference and called Fiers a few nasty words later. The players said had Hinch told them to stop, they would have. Yet, he chose to do nothing so that makes him part of it. At best, he was a spineless leader who went along because it was helping him out in the long run. And he threw the blame and responsibility on everyone else. He was the manager, knew about it, and did nothing to stop it. Then he cried crocodile tears about how sorry he was. He was only sorry because they got caught. You think this would have flew with a manager like Leyland, LaRussa, Bochy, etc.? Guess we'll have to disagree on this one.
  7. They have been sleep walking through the last week. Not hustling, not executing simple fundamentals.
  8. The players are ready for the season to be done. One guy on the roster has any passion and he only pitches every 5 days.
  9. Cleveland up 2-0 through 4
  10. The guy in charge had nothing to do with it? Sure. He didn't think it was odd players kept pounding on garbage cans during games? He was either in on it, oblivious to his surroundings, had zero control over the locker room, or a liar.
  11. Bet you Hinch wouldn't bring back Mike Fiers, the pitcher who exposed Hinch and the gang for cheating.
  12. He's young and inexperienced, per Hinch.
  13. The good news is Seattle and Houston are playing each other so only one of those teams will be tied with Detroit after tonight.
  14. Maybe Chris Paddack gets thrown back into the rotation.
  15. The majority of the posters on this message board could have gotten shelled in every start too.
  16. There's a really high chance that the Boston series to end the season is for the final wildcard spot.
  17. Great idea to start one of the hottest hitters in baseball off with a 2-0 count.
  18. They got Chris Paddack too. Great deadline additions.
  19. Isn't this where the former Tiger has a career day? 7 innings of 1 hit ball?
  20. Well, I thought they would finish in 3rd or 4th in the division before the season started, so by that metric the season has been a success, but they are on the verge of throwing away a huge opportunity. The playoffs are just about getting hot at the right time. And getting a bye is such an advantage.
  21. They need to win 1 of these games and then take 2 of 3 from the Guardians. And they should be good. But Atlanta has won 5 in a row and the Tigers have lost 3 in a row. Plus Morton is on the mound. The offense better come to play today. And I'm sure the pitchers will walk the guy in front of Olson because that's what guys like Morton and the relievers do.
  22. I didn't hate the Morton pickup, especially as a 5th starter as I thought he would be a guy to give you 5 innings but give up 3 runs and keep you in the game. Not great but the offense would need to know they would have to step up with him on the mound. There weren't a lot of quality starters out there for what the Tigers were willing to pay. Hated the Chris Paddack pickup. I wouldn't have taken him for free. The guy has been one of the worst starters in the league every season since his rookie season. If the Tigers make the playoffs, he won't be on the roster. Im guessing some team will take a chance on him next year or he'll sign a minor league contract, but I think he's will only pitch in a game again when the Tigers are down a whole lot.
  23. I think he was talking about Keider.
  24. The team is toast. Their self esteem is low and if Morton gets crushed like usual today, it's going to be ugly if Cleveland wins.
