  1. Another hit that inning. You can't stop this lineup, you can only hope to contain it
  2. I have never been a fan of him. He had no control over the team in Arizona, no one respected him in Houston, and now he is easily the smartest man in the room. He messes with guy's heads for no reason.
  3. I wonder if they will trade Mize in the off season? Hinch hates him and Baez for whatever reason. Lessons on how to be an ineffective leader
  4. Because Hinch is just that much smarter than all the other managers in the history of baseball. Just ask him, he'll tell you so.
  5. Hinch working his magic again. Takes out Mize after 3 innings.
  6. Ron Mexico was the worst nickname. It was for Michael Vick and he got it because he had an std and went to a clinic but didn't want anyone to know who he was so he gave that as his name. The NFL even banned the name for personalized jerseys from their site
  7. Casey Mize is going to have the game of his life. 7 IP, 1 hit, 10 K's, 0 ER. I believe in Casey.
  8. And Friday will basically be a coin flip between Skubal and Kirby
  9. This is the game to win. They are going against a very hittable pitcher. If they can't score off this guy, they deserve to lose.
  10. A team that didn't try to improve in the offseason. They went into the season with Trey Sweeney and Jace Jung as their SS and 3rd baseman. Neither of those guys can hit. They wanted Colt Keith as their 1st baseman to start the season. He would easily be a bottom 3 offensive 1st baseman and possibly the worst defensive one. They got garage sale level players at the trade deadline. And while they might throw money at Skubal, they are not going to spend on other positions at the same time. 0% chance he re-signs with Detroit.
  11. I can see Hinch doing just that.
  12. Skubal isn't coming back. There is no advantage for him to stay on a franchise that just hopes they can win. The trade deadline activity alone should show that the franchise just hopes they don't have to do anything and everything will work out. The Tigers won't make him a realistic offer. The owner has made it clear winning isn't his priority and he doesn't want to spend money on players.
  13. I don't see what Harris has done to help the mlb team. Almost anyone of note was here when Harris was hired. Maeda, Cobb, Urquidy, Seawald, Torres, Flaherty, Paddack, Morton, Montero, Finnegan, McKinstry, Sweeney, Kanhle, Vierling...sure I am missing someone, but that isn't impressive at all. It's like stopping at a Going Out Business sale and buying the last few things that are left on the shelf.
  14. If you think there are pitchers like Logan Gilbert in AA, well, I just don't know what to say. If you stick some of Tigers hitters in AA, they would be hitting .350 with a 1.200 OPS. The difference between AA and the majors is a wide gulf.
  15. I have a feeling game 4 will be an ass kicking and the Tigers will be the one getting kicked.
  16. All this hitting talent was mediocre in AA. They would have no chance against guys like Logan Gilbert.
  17. Vlad Jr is 7 for 10, 3 HR and 8 RBI. 2.236 OPS. In the playoffs. That's pretty much the hit total, home run total and runs scored for the entire playoffs for the Tigers
  18. I think he is just hoping everything works out and he just gets lucky...kind of like the last 2 years. He really has done barely anything to make the mlb team better. He inherited a group of players that made the playoffs 2 years in a row. And his guys are still in the minors so he has at least 4 or 5 years before he would get fired.
  19. Logan Gilbert is a really bad matchup for Detroit. I'm surprised they have any hits.
  20. Maybe swing at first pitch fastballs right down the middle? Might be something to experiment with. How about not letting Perez play?
  21. Why is Perez allowed to hit? Dude is more worthless than a bucket with a huge hole on the bottom.
  22. Naylor would have been a huge upgrade over worthless Colt Keith at DH. Hinch doesn't even let him hit.
  23. Might as well pull Skubal. No point in keeping him in there since the Tigers can't score and might as well keep his pitches down if they can somehow get to a game 5
  24. If ever there was a candidate for a playoff team to get no hit, it would be the Tigers against Logan Gilbert on Tuesday.
  25. Well good news is that the Yankees, Dodgers, and Phillies all play in the USA.
