  2. I will say I am glad we are back in the eastern time zone so I can go to bed disappointed earlier in the evening.
  3. I mean that and producing INF that are solid producers for other teams; looking at you Suarez, Adames and Paredes.
  4. Not trying to get political which unfortunately this topic is but KC will be without 10 of it's players in Toronto. That being said Merrifield basically said if he were moved to a contender he might get vaxxed.
  5. https://www.mlb.com/news/mlb-mock-draft-july-13-2022?t=mlb-draft-coverage Mayo really wants us to take Porter here for some reason. Jung being available I have a hard time seeing them selecting another high school pitcher. This part is at least a little encouraging; "The Tigers are also discussing college hitters like Jung, Zach Neto and Chase DeLauter and a high school bat like Cole Young "
  6. Call it eternal optimism but I like to think that the personnel they brought over from the Dodgers org will have some say in what happens with this draft so I am cautiously optimistic if they tried to do it again we may get a different result.
  7. Here is Law's write up about Prieplipp; TL; DR: Could have been in discussion for 1:1 if not for TJ. Not a huge track record but could be high end starter or bullpen. 28. Connor Prielipp, LHP, Alabama Prielipp had Tommy John surgery at the end of May 2021, ending his college career after just seven starts and 28 innings across two seasons. He returned to throw a bullpen right before the SEC tournament, mostly 90-92 with flashes of the slider he’d had before the injury, when the slider was plus and his changeup was good enough to project him as a starter. He cuts himself off when he lands, coming back a little across his body, although that and the low 3/4 slot also add to his deception. He might have been in consideration for the first-overall pick had he stayed healthy — and performed — but now seems more likely to get a deal in the second half of the first round. As for his future, he could be a high-end starter, and he could easily end up in the bullpen. He’s thrown so little in games that the range of his potential outcomes is huge.
  8. Could absolutely see that, maybe have talks with someone like Toman or Romero to get a high upside bat at 51.
  9. He is the Tigers Insider for ESPN the Ticket out of Toledo so he might have some connections in the org.

  11. For what it's worth Jim Callis had mentioned Prielipp quite a bit during his Q&A on Twitter about Tigers draft. I honestly wouldn't hate the pick. Yes I know we are missing some impact bats now that Greene and Tork are graduated but the fact he already had TJ honestly makes him feel like less of a risk and you could probably get him for under slot. https://twitter.com/RoadtoDetroit/status/1547374067388497920?t=5XnxfAx_2IWbVeZMRClgRQ&s=19
  12. Updates on Rogers and Turnbull: … Starting pitcher Spencer Turnbull, recovering from Tommy John surgery, is throwing off the mound in Lakeland. “That’s a great step,” Hinch said. “It’s still a long road back but getting off the mound for the first time has to be a positive for him mentally. Just to be back being a pitcher again.” … Catcher Jake Rogers, also coming off Tommy John surgery, is getting closer to a rehab assignment. Hinch said he’s ready to do just about everything on the field, but he has to get his arm built up more before they start the 20-day rehab assignment clock. “We can’t get him live at-bats until he can do everything because that starts the clock,” Hinch said. “Once he starts playing (games), he’s got 20 days to where we either have to option him or bring him to the big leagues. We’re going to make sure he can be a complete player before he's back."
  13. Baseball Prospectus Mid-Season Top 50 update: No Tigers but Jobe is listed at 52 https://www.baseballprospectus.com/prospects/article/75892/2022-prospects-the-midseason-top-50/
  14. I mean he is already 19 clearly too old for his league and his best years are already behind him.
  15. I'd throw Jimenez on there as well, RP's are so up and down get what you can for them then bring up the kids since this season is lost anyways.
  16. Quick hits from last night: Crouch 2/4 2B Season wRC+: 140 Pacheco 2/4 Season wRC+: 117 Perez 1/3 2B BB Season wRC+: 125 (at Erie) Sequera 1/4 2B Season wRC+: 97
  17. Last years 1st round pick for the Marlins decided to make a machine gun style motion towards an ump during a minor league game; he has been away from the team since.
  18. Did H. Castro pull something? That was about as lazy a run up the line in a tight ballgame as I have seen.
  19. and the pitch he hit was low but he kept with it.
  20. Honestly Baez's throw there was bad but Tork should have had it but he has saved him on so many throws this year can't blame him too much.
