  1. Yeah that's not enough for Soto. Think Greene, Skubal, Jobe, Olson, Keith and we have to take Patrick Corbin off there hands and we still probably don't have enough. The closest thing we have for a bench mark here is Cabrera's trade which included 2 top 10 prospects and a bunch of others and then taking Dontrelles contract
  2. I would say the closest we have to what brings to the table is the Kendall Graveman trade from last year in which for 1.5 seasons of Rafael Montero and .5 seasons of Kendall Graveman Seattle got Toro (FV: 45+) and Josh Smith for some reason. Graveman had a better ERA etc than our RP but was a 30 year old RHP after failing as a starter and only has .5 seasons left on his contract (sound familiar?). That being said if we got a 45+ prospect and a throw in from someone for say Fulmer and Jimenez I would be a happy camper. https://blogs.fangraphs.com/the-astros-and-mariners-made-a-weird-trade/
  3. Just missed this year; guessing he is #31 or #32. From my understanding they are really looking forward to drafting Tony Jr 1-1 next year.
  4. I can understand that thought process. You know he is probably good for 5IP each time he goes out and what you get back for him probably wouldn't be worth much.
  5. Oh I am sure they will get good number of calls on Lange but with that being said I am guessing they will need to be blown away by the proposed package given Lange's service time. All that being said I am guessing 2 out of the 4 of Chafin, Jimenez, Fulmer and Soto end up getting moved and we will be disappointed with the return of the prospects on at least 1 of the 2 trades. I would also not be surprised if any of Grossman, Barnhart, Pineda are moved as well even just for lottery tickets.
  6. Prospect rankings are just opinions and with that caveat I will say I think Santana and Perez deserve to be higher.
  7. Twitter is not super helpful here. Drafted as a LHP but MLB lists as a OF but also no video highlights that I can find either.
  8. Cole Patten was a part of the Draft League.
  9. 6' 7" so he's tall but honestly not much on him on twitter.
  10. He's a sophomore so may be using some of that excess cash on him.
  11. Stupp didn't pitch most of this year with a forearm injury but was going to be Kentucky's Friday night starter
  12. Now obviously this is just one person's opinion but below is what Bowman said it would take to get Soto. Chad Jennings and Jim Bowden of The Athletic recently tossed around a few names in a hypothetical trade with the Red Sox for Soto. Jennings suggested LHP Brandon Walter and RHP Wikelman Gonzalez. Bowden countered, suggesting it would take more for the Tigers to part with Soto — perhaps Walter and right-hander Brayan Bello. Jennings may have undersold the amount and Bowden may be a little on the high side but Bello is currently ranked 44 on Pipeline.
  13. One team I would keep an eye on is the Padres. If Avila can try (which I know is asking a lot) to convince Chris to open up his pocketbook a little more the Padres are up against tax ceiling which probably would limit who they would be willing to take on not only in our trades but others. That being said if we were willing to ship a reliever and depending on which one would obviously change the return value but if we were to take on Snell's contract that would open them up to adding more but that would also allow for the possibility of getting a much larger haul.
  14. Not sure this has been posted here but I feel like the kid would work well with Baez.
  15. I am curious as to the shakeup we will see after the AS break. Usually you will see some moves happen after the ASB to move players up and down levels.
  16. Only thing I would say here is I would expect Turnbull to be in the rotation in 2023 as he has already began throwing from the mound. Will he be effective? Who knows but he will probably be on a inning limit. As for the other two holes Brieske will probably be one of those fillers. E-Rod's Replacement Skubal Brieske Turnbull Manning/Wentz/Faedo/Flores/Olson/Madden? As this year has taught us we can expect to probably dip into our minors to fill in some of the starts and we will probably sign someone similar to Pineda as well.
  17. Just a quick blurb on Gold by Keith Law: Luke Gold, 2B, Boston College Gold doesn’t swing and miss much, and almost never missed a fastball this year, but he’s never really hit for average in three seasons with Boston College, and with fringy power and a walk rate under 10 percent, he needs to do more damage on all that contact he’s making. He has a no-load, no-strike approach, with a toe tap as a timing mechanism but no real weight transfer, which might be why he can’t translate his impressive bat control into better results, especially on non-fastballs. He’s played mostly second base for the Eagles with a little bit of third, and if someone can turn all this contact into more production, he could be a solid regular at either spot.
