  1. Why do protesters go after non federal policy makers?  Because their point isn’t to introduce change but to just be an asshole.

Not just self-perpetuating social isolation, but relatedly, also physical isolation. Ever notice how the people who are most agitated about the "border crisis" are those who live the farthest away from Mexico? They are also those most likely to loc up and go vigilante down there. Some travel over a thousand miles to do it!

We see the same dynamic about exurban and rural people when it comes to just about any decent-sized city. I have heard someone say they didn't want to go into Green Bay because they don't want to get attacked by gangs of ******s there. Predictably, they live over half an hour outside Green Bay.

I still can’t believe I hear people say that about Detroit.  They freaking live at 23 mile and Gratiot and act like working downtown is being in south central LA in 1989.   I made a comment to a family member a while back about a locally well known place in West Village. “You go into Detroit?  For coffee and pastries?”  They couldn’t believe it. I said “yeah.  And believe it or not there’s often a line out the door and it’s only white people.  And the houses in that neighborhood probably cost more than yours”.

How are you watching Bally, on a PC? The FF doesn't work very well on my Roku...it jumps all the way to live when trying to FF thru commercials. I watch on my PC now and it works pretty good.

I just put the app on my smart TV and logged in. I have a Samsung.

  4. I ended up getting the Ballys app.  They have a 7 day trial and with any credit from xfinity that will offset. Hopefully they resolve their problem.  I’m having a tree taken down today so a good opportunity to chill and watch afternoon baseball.

I actually called about this trip not long after it was posted on the site. I inquired as to where the seats were located for the games. The lady I had a conversation with about the trip details did not know the location of the seats. Do you have any idea about the seat location(s) for the games?

They have good seats. Just past 3B down the line. Tomorrow will be in upper deck above their spot tonight.

I'll ask her during the game

The Tigers Fans Vacation tour will attend this series. Recently the Tigers, in cooperation with a travel agency(s) do two road trips per year. This one was two days in Cooperstown in addition to all three games versus the Yankees. It also included one full day in NY City to do whatever you preferred.

I’m sure it would be a lot of fun. All travel, tickets, and lodging are covered to and from New York.

The second trip this year is in August to when the Tigers visit San Francisco. That itinerary looks like a good one as well.

My sister is part of this group.  She sent a pic of Jason and Craig.

  8. Midjourney.  Then I used Discord to generate the images using their commands.  Don't ask me how, I forgot it already, but you were at a prompt and had write the command, followed by the text.  Then they would be uploaded to the midjourney app.

  9. I'm laughing so hard.... he really thought he was going to take down that cop or he would move out of the way?  You think they gave the "They'll never take our freedom!" speech from Braveheart?

I’ve been wanting to try generative or photo-editing AI, but it seems like every site I end up that wants me to buy an expensive subscription upfront before I even try it.

I subscribed for a month, it was fun at first but I was running out of ideas. A friend uses it because he creates content so he had a need.  It was as much about learning how to ask for what you want as it was just getting a result.  You have to figure out that balance between overloading it with details (It will ignore some) yet getting anything specific you really want.

JD Vance would be such a disaster.... as such, I suspect he's the favorite.

I think he’s the favorite to carry his mantle forward.  And Rubio… ?  What a disaster. I can’t believe I wanted him to win in 2016.

  12. I think that’s far less likely than trump winning the EC. Two reasons. They will now be better prepared. If Biden wins then they will have ramped up security big time.  Trump has no infrastructure or apparatus behind like he did in 2020. Back then he had the defense and military and fbi and all that.  Now it’s just him and some bad lawyers. Nobody has to take his phone calls.  Defeated candidates are nobodies. I remember seeing a picture of Mitt Romney a day after the election in 2012 waiting in the taxi line at an airport. No staff.  No secret service.  He’s just a guy. The minute the campaign is over all the RNC cards are cutoff. You are just a regular schmo.  Sure with Donald it is a little different as a former potus but he’s still not in any position of power to do anything.

Still not worried. People don’t pay attention to politics until October. Once they do, enough of them will come around. Not all, but enough. We’ve been seeing that dynamic in elections since 2018.

Thats my gut but I’m too superstitious to put it in writing.

  14. I might try it on my work laptop because I notice when using the vpn sometimes websites detect my location all over the place.   I’m not that worried about it. Our laptop is basically used by my youngest son to just watch YouTube videos and our photos.

if this is not resolved soon I also just may subscribe to Ballys. With my credit from xfinity it’s the price of a beer at Comerica park.  Funny how  that works. My decision to get another beer at a game is basically purely convenience. If I have to walk too far. No way.  If they are right there… what’s $12???  But subscribing to my team for a month?  That’s as much mental anguish was deciding to refinance or not.

  15. This might be fake but who knows. I will believe it.  It makes sense as to motive.  As Drew Lane said “there’s a boner behind everything”

This post is being dropped here, only because it just hit my happy spot when I saw it today. 🙂

Sometimes, tuning in to a baseball game, even if it’s just playing in the background while I’m doing stuff, brings me such a sense of calm. 🤷‍♀️

    ===============================

“[Baseball] breaks your heart. It is designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come, it stops and leaves you to face the fall all alone. You count on it, rely on it to buffer the passage of time, to keep the memory of sunshine and high skies alive, and then just when the days are all twilight, when you need it most, it stops.”

    ― A. Bartlett Giamatti

I have that essay bookmarked.  The way he writes about Bernie Carbo is how I want to be remembered.
