You can’t trust entertainment accounting. They can make it come out any way they want for their narrative.

You don’t build a team for the playoffs. They have a huge division lead. Don’t sacrifice to build on that. If you can’t win the division this year with what you have won to this point then that itself is a reason going “all in” would be a mistake. One player doesn’t prevent a massive slump. This org and players have been at the highest performance over the last calendar year. They have earned the benefit of the doubt. I have no beef with today. People get caught upon the adrenaline and breaking news and psychologically feel left out and assume something is wrong. I like that the org isn’t holding to some idea of a “window” like they did 10 years ago because we had a dying Ilitch and Cabrera and Verlanders careers to worry about. We don’t have to win now because of Skubal. Give us a system that contends every year and let the pieces fall where they do.

This is his third deadline day as the guy in charge.

Just because it’s Black Friday or Prime Day doesn’t mean you have to go shopping.

Only if the teams with players you want value those guys to the point they give up what you value. Teams aren’t required to consummate a trade just because the pieces “even out” on paper

Remember last year when the Tigers gave up and Harris blew it at the deadline? They are 98-65 since then. Relax people.

My wife and mother in law were in the parking lot of the Machus Red Fox that day. Her parents were divorced and that was the exchange point when she'd visit her dad. He lived in Pontiac and she was in Dearborn.

We will know it when Colbert goes to another entity.

He's not scared. I guarantee he's not scared.

If Trump wasn't on "a list" then it would have been produced by now.

In a weird way he cost us Robbie Ray. I know that sounds funny because that's who we traded Fister for. But the fans really were against the trade and when DD sent Ray away I feel like he was responding to pressure which I've never thought before.

ha ha... I've been there.

I'm not sure Lou's stance with reporters mattered much with regard to the HOF. It was as Lee pointed out, he never had the BIG year. He was just good to very good for a long time. He was a leadoff hitter then later had some power. He was an easy player to take for granted. He won the silver slugger and gold glove in 83-85 which in theory means he was the best 2B in the AL on both sides of the field.

I was there a week ago. A block from the beach. View from our balcony. The ocean is beyond those buildings. A lot of people sleep on the beach at night. Obviously homeless. They leave during the day. I hope they are ok.

It’s possible that the agreements allow MLB to access all the betting data and they discovered it themselves.

Was it due to time or just "he's not on our team anymore, get him out of there before he gets hurt or something and it voids"? I don't know, I was at Michigan Adventure at the time and trying to get updates on a dying cell phone while standing in line for a roller coaster.

During the strike in '94 and '95 he got a lot of national heat for showing up to the meetings in a limo. But that was his only car. He and his wife owned a recording studio and they used that for clients. That was literally their car.

Bongino had some "cryptic" statement the other day about things he's seen that would "blow you away" and I interpreted that to be a way to walk back his hard line stance and fend off the wolves until they forget about it. "Just wait until I tell you about what I see...." Then in 2-3 years nobody remembers.

and I was mad because my cable system didn't have WOR and WOR would show pro wrestling

I read a book on the Busch family, of Budweiser fame. It's fantastic. Very typical of family business dramas you'd see on TV and in movies. Caray was getting too popualr in St. Louis and was running around with either a Busch daughter or the wife of a Busch son. Also Busch beer was created because of the baseball stadium. The league wouldn't let him name the stadium after his beer so he named it after the family, then created the beer.

WGN played a big part obviously but for me specifically given my age it was huge that they didn't play night games at Wrigley. I was born in '73 so by the time I got to the age where I was too old to "go out and play" during the day, I'd sleep in until 10 or 11, lounge around all day, and watch the Cubs on WGN until going out in the evening or to work. From about 87-89 during the week I was watching them play during the day. I probably watched them more than the Tigers to be honest. That Cubs era has a special place for me.

I'm not an expert but I won't be upset if the team doesn't get Suarez.

https://www.instagram.com/reel/DMqXVv6SvES/?igsh=dWdhMHlhc2lmOThr According to that, when Clase comes into the game in the 9th, his first pitch “waste pitch” percentage (ball way out of the zone) is 17.5%. Every other pitch is 5%.

Why is Scott Harris making these guys get hurt?
