I'm happily surprised but still a little cautious about this momentum turn.
-
and let's not forget that someone who used the phrase 'jew friends' is giving lectures about antisemitism.
-
take that up with your overlords that you worship and can't stop gushing about, the ones you spent 2 years telling us were the greatest people since Lincoln. They did this. Not us. They're murderous scum and you enabled it and endorsed it.
-
It's all worth it to them b/c they "owned the libs". Imagine living a life where hatred of others is the cause of abandoning any pretense of decency or morality. These dudes would sacrifice their own wives and children for politics. They are that depraved.

Anytime a MAGA tries to pretend they are manly or lecture others about what a real man is about... it's not MAGA. They think they are macho tough guys but everyone knows better. I'm not talking about ICE. I'm talking about men who still support Donald Trump.

A friend used it to get out of some kind of medical bill he didn't think he should get. They send you that crap thinking you'll just pay it. But it advised him on things to ask for... some kind of documents they must provide if you ask. Then if they do you can question that which requires them to do more work. You can specify they mail it to you. Etc. Etc. At some point the office staff just writes it off as it's not worth their time or they don't want to or can't. Basically they do what they assume you will... just pick the easiest path even if it costs you money.

But there’s obviously more organizational costs beyond stadium operations. do those revenue figures cover advertising in the stadium. Signage. Etc?
-
That has me wondering what the operating cost of a typical red wing game vs Tiger game? I was once told by someone who worked in “event” at Comerica that having the stadium lights on for a vent in the Tiger club was a few thousand. That’s simply the DTE initial charge to turn them on. Like the cost of ice and maintenance vs the turf and crew at Comerica. ChatGPT estimates $150-300K for NHL and $300K for MLB.
-
Why is that my problem to solve? If the players don’t get it then the owners just pocket it. Costs will not go down if salaries went down. The NHL doesn’t bring in the revenue that MLB does. That’s why tbeir players make less.

I’ve been vocal on social media in calling these folks Nazis and none of my Jewish friends have tried to clarify this. They would have
-
Agree. And what’s he to do? Just get rid of them? If he had any better options he would have done it. Might as well play the cards you had.

It’s also an issue of seats available, both per game and thru the season. I’d say just about 1/4. The wings keep calling me for 10 games plans, which is just shy of the equivalent of my 28 games for the Tigers. But the cost is the same. I’ll probably do it if a current connection I have dries up after a retirement.

Holocaust museum's wrong. Not every element has to be equal for an analogy to work and for them to claim antisemitism is a perverted use of the word. The point is she was targeted by the state. The point is as this group of people was targeted by the state so many others just went about their lives because it "didn't affect them". It was about others so they ignored it or were passive about it as it was about "those people", just like people are doing today since this is, to some, about other people. The "why" isn't relevant. Its the fact there's a target and the lack of interest in the neighbors in caring about it since it doesn't cross their paths.

I think there's been a shift among the season ticket holder market. Big time. And it's a self inflicted. Dynamic pricing and ease of using secondary markets. Why commit, like I have for 30 years, for a 28 game package for a set # of games, including ****ty ones in April and Sept when it's cold, for a set price, when you can just pick and choose your own at the last minute, often for peanuts? 22 year old me may not have made the committment I have over these years. It's just a fixed part of my life and I'm used to it. But younger me may have invested that in other forms of entertainment, like continuing on with golf or whatever. Even with the Wings, I've gone to 2 games this year for $20 by waiting until around 6 pm on seatgeek. No, the seats weren't great, but I was in the building. And with the casual nature of Comerica Park... just get in the stadium and you can mingle on their party decks they built... so that $10 nosebleed seat is irrelevant. Weren't sitting there anyway. And perhaps the Lions from the last 2-3 years killed off many potential purchases as people burned through their entertainment budgets?

Where I used to park for games was near the Leland Hotel, with that and some other tall buildings. Hearing the friday night fireworks was fun because of that reason.

People Mover was fine but it seems like now with JLA gone and the RenCen a shell.... there's no reason to use it unless you don't want to walk, or can't. It's not a grand area it covers and with the development we've had things are generally safe. I also have an aversion to shuttles. Don't mind being dropped off, but I hate waiting to leave somewhere. I'm done. I want to go. When Comerica Park first opened i Used to take a shuttle from a bar across from Tiger Stadium, not Nemo's. Then I watched it drive by a lot near Bagley and Cass and I saw how to get there, I parked there for about 20 years. Then Covid and cashless... so I use their lots. Frankly from Tiger Stadium site to Comerica is only about a mile.

Netflix might change that 🙂

Seriously though, I wouldn't be surprised if official team social media is run by MLB in terms of where they post. Also... I'm not a fan of their development practices. Basically any blight you find in areas bound by Woodward, Grand River, Trumbull, MLK area, is probably due to them. But they want it all channeled through the arena and casino. You have Woodbridge and Cass Corrido, oh, sorry Midtown. But they keep the blight up. HOwever I do like their parking lots. Makes it convenient when going to games and shows. I'd hate to have to navigate structures or whatever... and mass transit and the "Q Line" are not legitimate options if you have to be somewhere.

We had two in Dearborn for a long time. One had 3 legs. Unfortunately I saw a video where one got hit on Michigan Ave, didn't right away, but was helped by people.... then later put down.

I still can't get on board with that. I'm anti conspiracy theory overall. I'm not saying because I don't think these people (Trump's orbit) are above killing innocents but rather the level of coordination needed by other law enforcement and the secret service to enable that guy to be up there. It's why I am not into JFK assassination theories either. Too many external factors had to just line up to make it work in addition to a bunch of others going along.

I read that last year was the first time a sitting POTUS went to a super bowl game?
-
What’s the context? Like what do you think it means going forward? I’m ignorant to this stuff but I saw it mentioned elsewhere too.
-
I can’t keep any of them straight. Aren’t there 3 guys name Evan?

You think Stephen Miller will wake up and change his mind because of elections? Who do you think is going to stop them? How does a rescue of our nation play out if it happens thru normal political channels? I don’t see any endgame where these folks are held responsible either politically, electorally, or even criminally.
