Manning getting banged around in the 2nd.

she doesn't have any official government position - so it any device she has would be 'personal.' It was Meadows' device that was at question wasn't it? So only communications to Meadows from other 'official' devices?

Just checked - BR thinks it is. 523 OPS against LHP, 841 against RHP. He was able to take a walk against a lefty about as well as against a righty though.

Lopez still standing?

I disagree a little Lee. When both teams were in the East and you could still cross the border in Det with no hassle, there were always a fair number of fans that would go to each other's games - especially Detroiters going to Toronto because it was a very popular weekend trip from here in those days, or Southwest Ontario folks who were Jays fans coming to Tiger Stadium. So I think that did build a little more relationship between the teams/fans than average. I wouldn't argue it ever approached Yankees/Red Sox, but there was more going on with the Jays than with most other teams the Tigers played, and for instance I think more than we had ever had with the White Sox prior to being in their division despite the travel time being about the same. Agree the rivalry with the O's, esp around the '68 team was definitely intense.

and it wouldn't be so bad if Thomas hasn't spent so much time extolling what a close couple they are. It can't help but appear absurd to do that and then turn around and say you have a firewall between your professional lives. Not to mention that the two of them *appear* at ideologically charged conservative events *together* - so again, by his own actions he feeds the narrative that he sits on the court with a partisan ax to grind in union with her, but then demands to be treated like he is some kind of Solon above the fray. He's just another example of Washington narcissism/entitlement. Thomas' case just has the added twist that if you accuse him of anything he throws out the "I'm being hi-tech lynched" defense.

the other thing we'll have to see about Baddoo is whether he has spent time on this throwing with another years distance from the TJ. His arm was pretty erratic last year. Not as important as the bat obviously, but a place where he has room to improve his game.

for US. That the parties make hay from it hardly correlates with whether it's good for the republic!
-
part one - YES. Part two - a very big dirty little secret is that CU will never be a high profile issue on US TV political commentary because they know damn well they are the recipients of 90% of that money. Doesn't change that CU is bad law, bad politics and bad metaphysics.

Paredes with a dinger today. Pretty swing but he's still got the front leg up in the air a long time. Baddoo with his HR off a LHP.

Cool Jazz/Fusion/whatever it was it's sort of gone today, or at least harder to find or make a buck at.

Skub a little wild today

I've probably said it before but the slice of Beatles music I like the most is when they just rock and rolled in 3 part harmony - esp when George would get his licks in - "Ticket to Ride", "I Feel Fine", etc - _1964-65 stuff mostly.

LOL - I knew somewhere all the boys' names used the same letter, but 'C' for Clemens comes to mind first! 🤔

Clearly the Stone have built an enduring legacy and fan base, but they never clicked for me, even from the very beginning. I had bought one Stones album I thought I liked when Jones was still in the group - never listened to it much.

TBH, both bands did their share of covers.

As per the MLB.com page, the 40 is at 40 but includes Rogers and Turnbull, so that leaves room for Greene and Torkelson. Beyond that someone gets bumped. I can't imagine they are too attached to Del Pozo, and I could see them cutting Cody Clemens loose.

should the lineup card be in read, blue and purple instead of red, black and blue? And here I thought the Tigers were getting into advanced science!

Conservatives should oppose CU. It should be fundamental to conservative dogma that rights inhere in individuals, and only individuals. The only rights that flow to an organization are those of the individuals in it acting in coordination but individually. The officers in a corporation have rights as individuals to participate in the political process, there is nothing what so-ever in any sane reading of the Constitution that gives those rights to a economic entity per se, let alone where the managers are taking advantage of the resources of other individuals to act in the political sphere in ways that may well be contrary to those individuals' interests, let alone an entity (the corporation) which is wholly a creation of statue law to being with. You have to admit it's a pretty neat metaphysical bootstrapping trick to leverage fundamental rights into an entity created by a completely reversible act of a legislature. Let managers pay themselves the money they want to put into politics and then use it as individuals. That level of indirection creates an important and fundamental difference.

the problem here is that in the effort to pave the way for government officials to have professional spouses, they screwed it up. Instead of making COI rules just run both ways equally and apply to men as well as women, they relaxed them for spouses in the name of womens' rights, but that is a crock. There is no such thing as a marriage where one partner's interests, whether ideological or financial, don't impact the other. Anyone who says they believe the contrary is either lying, single or divorced. COI rules need to apply to married couples - period. And of course, no surprise McConnell is the other huge offender here.

I'm happy to hear he now seems to be sold on the idea of working up only with the 4 seamer. It seamed to me Casey used to try to muscle up on his two seamer and it would flatten out at about the waist and get crushed. It's OK if you mostly throw low with off speed - the more a guy gets out in front on a low pitch the more likely you are to get a nice GB.

Jack's story was that the presser was not done at ST camp. Of course Morris could be FOS, would hardly be the 1st time.

Same should have been true around health care where she was also an active lobbyist. Buddha's views not withstanding, Thomas is a legal bad joke.
