  1. Funny enough, I actually sat down and watched the sequel last night (2010) for the first time last night. Can't believe I'm saying it, but it was actually pretty good, made more sense and was a lot less pretentious than 2001....
  2. I'm just waiting to find out who the next Marcelo Mayer or Zach Neto is lol...
  3. Wouldn't be surprised if he ends up there at some point.
  4. Probably the only area where this franchise currently fits Harris' criteria of "players should want to come here to get better" is pitching, so another one year get right deal makes sense. He may be better than half the batting order as well lol
  5. Straight outta Veep lol
  6. Was beginning to think it'd never be official lol
  7. Third base looks pretty good compared to this year, otherwise correct.
  8. Really, if both ERod and Javy opt out, added to Miggy coming off the books, they have zero excuse not to spend next offseason. That's, like, $75 million dollars lol
  9. This post is correct, although the highlighted number could be lower depending on advances by guys like Torkelson/Greene/Meadows, etc. Which also speaks to the fact that, as much as people may roll their eyes at pinning hopes on those already on the roster, in order for them to be even have a chance at being remotely competitive or even sniffing .500 in 2023, more than anything else that is what will make up the difference. Not any one individual free agent signing.
  10. Astounding that these guys will never accept that Dr. Oz was, in fact, a much worse candidate than John Fetterman, even post-stroke.
  11. Is Baez leaving a problem? Seems like most of our fanbase wanted to run him out on a rail during 2022.
  12. Again, aside from Jace Peterson and Mitch Haniger, there isn't a single player that has gone off the board that I had really heard much speculation about regarding the Tigers or that even made a lot of sense for the Tigers given where they find themselves. (Maybe Willson Contreras counts as well, but never really bought that rumor). Let's just see what happens. Whether the moves they make going forward are seen adequate remains to be seen, but I doubt they are done yet.
  13. None of this really answers the question - did anyone really *expect* them to be after Carlos Correa? The 21/22 offseason is ancient history - they were coming off of a 77 win season where one could squint and (with a few lucky bounces) could have envisioned a competitive 2022 season with a future young core of talent. Makes some sense to make an offer to Correa under those circumstances. That was blown to smithereens during this last "Al Capone's vault" of a season in which they were lucky to finish 66-96 given the historic nature of their offensive performance. One which saw a change in GM/PBO as well. Given the situation they are in, there was no reason to believe they would be in on Correa, there was never a single indication that they would be in on Correa. Nor was there any indication that Correa would even want to sign here. But that didn't stop a lot of us from speculating about him anyway lol
  14. I would gather that most people on this board are just as frustrated as you are with the state of the org. But there's a lot of offseason left. And they aren't gonna free agent their way to competitiveness either way.
  15. It's not really about any of us *hoping* for anything, it's about having realistic expectations of what the team will do given the situation that it is in. Did people really expect them to be in on the Carlos Correa sweepstakes? Or Aaron Judge? Outside of *maybe* Mitch Haniger, I'm not sure there's a single big name free agent that has ever been discussed or rumored as a possibility for the Tigers, and even he was probably only a possibility if he was interested in a 1 year "get right" deal. Al left this thing in disrepair... we all know it and we were all elated when he was fired. But the thing about the disrepair he left the organization in, as much as it all sucks and we're all tired of seeing them lose and want instant gratification, is it isn't gonna cure itself on it's own or be fixed overnight. Signing Carlos Correa alone isn't fixing it.
  16. The way this offseason is going, it might not be just ERod opting out... lol
  17. He would have this year lol
  18. TBF, from Correa's end, he did hog out $35 million or so last year with the Twins, on top of this deal. So he's doing just fine lol
  19. The White Lotus Season 2 finished up last night... I dont watch many shows these days, but I found it pretty entertaining
  20. I don't know where he'd fall, just don't think Frazier really brings much to the table in terms of what this club really needs and will command a lot more than either Anderson or Rios. Then again, given we are talking about the lower end of the free agent market, the stakes are basically floor level if these are the guys they are bandying about.
  21. I get that, but do believe he's one of those buy-low upside candidates that's in Harris' wheelhouse.
