  1. The general political position of any state isn't a selling point for me in any direction.... if it were, I would have never moved to Texas in the first place. And if I leave, it's going to be because the stars align career wise, not because of politics. My only point is that one's perspective may be different when you live center-left in a state dominated by GOP politicians.
  2. Also, one could argue that Presidents who are in tough negotiations with adversarial powers (let alone a murderous dictator) aren't obligated to hang their portraits on the wall. I'm kind of having a tough time imagining Dwight Eisenhower hanging a picture of Nikita Khruschev on the wall of his personal home, for instance.
  3. In an ideal world, I probably would move back to the Midwest lol
  4. Maybe it's because I live in Texas, but I feel like the right wing culture war stuff is thrown much more in my face than the left wing stuff. Especially after the past State Legislature and with Greg Abbott positioning himself for the GOP Primary.
  5. We'll see if they actually sign Semien, though.... seems like there are more logical landing spots for him than the White Sox
  6. And I disagree with you. When the Governor of a state like Illinois or New York gets into the book banning business like my Governor is pursuing, maybe then we'll talk.
  7. I'm sorry that it's inconvenient for you that there are parts of the right that also engage in cancel culture.
  8. Trust me, I'm not laughing about Trump's love for Kim Jong Un
  9. Good stuff Brandon
  10. To an extent, as ridiculous as that tweet is, one would think there actually was outrage among people who participate in that cause that would prompt them to author and send said tweet. It's ridiculous either way. But maybe not accurate to say no ones outraged lol
  11. Christ on a cracker...
  12. Four years seems long for Matz
  13. His persona took a really dark turn at the end, iirc.
  14. The focus on the number "300" is gonna seem really trivial if Correa ends up signing for 304.
  15. Kyle Rittenhouse: Deep State Communist??
  16. Don't forget the crappy memes...
  17. What I thought was interesting about the move is that it comes on the heels of market prices for oil having a pretty significant drop over the course of the past week. It's politically calculated doing this right now, but I believe they are timing it knowing that prices are going to taper off some.
  18. In b4 the accusations of cancel culture
  19. As cynical as people are about Rittenhouse's appearance on Tucker, he's still an 18 year old who probably doesn't have fully formulated views on a lot of these issues. In a country where the voting populace tends to have much more mixed views on the issues than is portrayed in the media. So in that sense, maybe it shouldn't be surprising if he's more sympathetic to BLM than people realize.
  20. Two wrongs apparently now make a right.
  21. I'm not saying you are long winded, you just seem to be leaving some folks out of your analysis about why we are so divided. Tucker Carlson and his employer are as guilty, if not moreso, than the others.
  22. He strikes me as the kind of guy who spent the better part of the incident speculating on the characteristics of the suspect and whether he could shoehorn in a political angle and score some points. Rather than, like normal people, being horrified by what happened and for the loss of life.
