  1. Roberts bullpen management tonight cost them. One imagines that another inning of Treinan or using Graterol easily could have resulted in something better than a tie game. Of course, they left a lot of ducks on the pond. But still
  2. Homer from Future Tigers Legend Corey Seager starts the scoring tonight in Atlanta....
  3. I'd like to see them get Martin Maldonado at C... comes cheap, plays good defense, etc
  4. Its fairly widely accepted to be less effective than Pfizer of Moderna, and IIRC FDA is looking at whether to recommend Pfizer/Moderna boosters for J&J recipients.
  5. Its a big "if", but Lange building upon his final month would significantly improve my outlook on the bullpen. He definitely has the stuff, just need to see him do it consistently
  6. Mask usage is more like 20-25% here, but that is down from when we had the massive spike in cases this summer when it jumped back up to something like 65-70% again. To an extent, the combination of vaccination and dumbasses who will not avail themselves is the endgame here.... pretty soon we will all have exposure either naturally or through vaccination. Which in the long run moves us from it being a pandemic to endemic. I'd imagine the rules on masking, to the extent that certain regions even have rules/regs on masking, will evolve as this transition occurs.
  7. That's not going to happen
  8. "Ackshully, its not an actual gallow, it's just symbolism, NBD!" Pathetic
  9. Yup. Just a massive ****up on his part. Which dovetailed into the following inning.
  10. The Dodgers have just been phenomenal on the bases tonight...
  11. Is it me, or have the NL playoff games so far generally moved much faster than the AL playoff games?
  12. That's fair... also, when I came of age, they were making the playoffs yearly while still dominating cable via TBS. They arent the Yankees, but the heavy media dosage combined with their playoff success gave them the feel of a Yankees-lite which I never cared for. Although tbf, I never hated the Cubs in the same way despite their arrangement with WGN...
  13. Its funny because the Braves cable dominance was always a reason I didn't like them 🤷‍♂️
  14. I'd like to see Maxy win another title. So I'd be ok with the Dodgers.
  15. The Astros may have already made an offer, but do we have reason to believe that they may not up the ante? Homers like the one last night probably up the pressure to some extent on the Astros to at least put forth an effort to try to keep him in the fold
  16. Part of the struggle I see with Correa as well is that the Astros themselves may want to up their ante with him too. They will have to pay a ransom to get him, and honestly as much as I'd love to see him in a Tiger uniform, not at too steep a price. In terms of where he'd rather play, this is probably an overrated factor, but one selling point of coming to a Detroit would be that he would be THE guy here, not just another cog in murderers row with the Yankees. I dont know if that matters for a lot of players tho. Probably not.
  17. That one additional run now looms large...
  18. Personally I think it was not a swing, but to Ed's point, it's definitely a part of the game that is subjective and it's hard to see how to eliminate it. Without roboumps anyway
  19. I had to check out early, but it was an instant classic it would appear
  20. A lotta LOB going on tonight by the bay...
  21. Regarding Virginia, while I know the race is closer than Mac would like, the Hacks guys spent their episode talking about how Youngkin was gonna win. Maybe he will, but haven't really seen data that would suggest he's favored at least
  22. Yep. People gotta vote!
  23. TMac 53-41 RV, 51-46 LV Past two public polls (CBS/YouGov) of Virginia paint a similar picture... a McAuliffe lead in RVs that narrows when the likely voter screen is applied. It's sort of similar to California, although I have no reason not to believe that TMac needs to generate more enthusiasm on the D side.
  24. I'll go back to what I said earlier in the summer in our now defunct forum: mid 80s is definitely a reasonable goal for this team. Especially if they do make some investments in the roster. I am a little bit wary of some of the individual performances they got, particularly offensively (ie. Baddoo, Haase), so they'll need to perhaps offset some lost production with their improvements. But it is definitely achievable, especially in this division.
