  1. Right on right. 2 lefties scheduled for Holton.
  2. Great job by Jack. I think...I hope he might be back.
  3. Do pitchers go into slumps? Flaherty looked like he lost it earlier in the season but lately, he's been really good. Looking like a solid #2 type pitcher.
  4. The guy is a real threat. An old fashioned slugger.
  5. Jason wants to play a new game....guess who's playing for the Twins tonight....lol
  6. Schwarber has 37 home runs. And Flaherty has carved him up twice, so far
  7. You've been waiting 2 days to say that, right? 😆😆
  8. Deep, deep fly ball. Vierling made a good catch.
  9. Jones hustling to beat out that DP may turn out to be a huge play.
  10. 3. Huge. Runs!!
  11. Pitchers duel tonight?
  12. Philly city connect uniforms look like pajamas. 😅😅
  13. Philly is really good. They slug and pitch. Hopefully, Skubal puts them in their place tomorrow. 😆
  14. It seems more like Javy type players, guys willing to move around and do whatever is asked of them. They used to call them "team players."
  15. We don't bring up politics in the sports forum just for this reason. Personal attacks are never warranted. But yeah, you sound like a typical MAGA racist. So....go F yourself. 😅
  16. Yeah, it's much safer for a minority to drive thru the deep south. 🙄🙄
  17. No. Counting on a rookie in high leverage situations? That would be fine on a rebuilding team but not on a team playing for a championship. I doubt Hinch will even use him as a setup man. Prolly try him out in a 6th to 7th inning situation.
  18. Yeah, what's done is done. If he does good the next couple of months, we could always sign him. I also would have preferred better pitching but again, other teams apparently outbid us. We're not sure what was asked or what the Tigers offered.
  19. Scott Harris has really rebuilt this teams minor league system and player development. But I'm kinda disappointed with his inability to make the huge trade(s) to really take us over the top. I get it, he wants to be able to bring talent to Detroit in case of injuries or if players eventually walk. But use some of the prospect capital to bring in a quality slugger or some really good pitching, starters or relief pitchers. I would say trading isn't his strong suit. But yeah, making the playoffs is the goal and we're well on our way. And yes, it can be a crapshoot once we get in. But at this point, I would say the Tigers will be an early out.
  20. Upgrade for 3rd base? Too expensive. The better relief pitchers? Too expensive. Scott Harris played his first trade deadline as a buyer terrified that any prospect he traded may someday turn into an All Star. Apparently, we need several middle infield prospects, because, you never know. But scraping the bottom of the barrel got us pitchers with 4.50 ERA'S to replace pitchers with 4.65 ERA's. 😅
  21. Just think how good they would be with a regular at 3rd with 39 home runs and 70+ RBI. Bottom line is they would be a better ML team right now. Yes, it would cost some players who may someday play in the majors...or may never. There's a reason all the serious contenders were going after Suarez...make the team better.
  22. WAR...Saying Suarez would be a downgrade? I guess he must make 6 or 7 errors a game? Of course, WAR varies from one site to the next... I hate to say it but every time he hits a HR, there are going to be people complaining about it. 🤣🤣
  23. They must have improved in the last 6 to 8 weeks since that article came out showing them dead last. But the point is, Suarez would have been an offensive upgrade. Unless his defense is SO horrible, it cost up games? Stats are wonderful until people start cherry picking certain stats to show the positives or negatives of certain players. 36 home runs and 70+ RBI would be an upgrade. A late inning defensive replacement, if his D is that bad. Hinch has about 4 players he can put at 3rd base.
  24. Reds came back and tied it with 8 runs in the 8th inning. Just to lose in extra innings because of the stupid ghost runner rule. MLB has ruined extra inning games, IMO.
