  1. I think our kicking may be better than OK this season;
  2. 6:40 starts weren't early enough to get all the dinner crowd?
  3. Pitch clock.....Yankees and RSox played last night...16 runs scored on 28 hits. Game time was a bit over 3 hours. In years past, this would have been a 4 hour game, or more. 3 hours was a 2-0 game...lol
  4. Agreed. And with the extra wild card teams, the Tigers may have been in the playoffs a few more times. Was DD in charge when the Tigers drafted JV, Granderson and Zumaya? And the moves he made, while clearing out minor league talent, helped bring very successful ML players to town. And like you said, once here, Mike I. spent big to keep them. Yes, I would return to those glory years in a heartbeat. It sure beat these long rebuilding years.
  5. I would want him hired right now if it meant gutting our farm system for the next 8 years but doing the winning he did while he was here. Say what you want about him but 2006 to 2014 were the clubs best stretch in my lifetime, maybe in franchise history?
  6. DD had a lot of winning years in Detroit.
  7. Not a chance. He's had a few good games that entitles him to a few more starts. But more importantly, there's nobody else. Even with him, we're short 2 starters.
  8. Yeah. Cause the Twins woulda been in Detroit. 😁
  9. Riley to the 10 day IL. He really didn't look right yesterday.
  10. Montero had a few good starts. Young pitchers are sometimes inconsistent. Our biggest need is starting pitching. And you guys wanna trade our only two reliable starters...jeezzzz 😆
  11. It's this guy's big brother;
  12. They want to make more money by forcing people to come to the ballpark for dinner. What's a hot dog going for there now, about $7?
  13. Well, I never looked at the stats. Just the eye test, their offense scares me. But when pitching shuts them down, their pitching and defense seems suspect. I did say they're beatable, which makes the division more open. KC will eventually fade (I hope).
  14. Have they really? Ramirez scares me, he always seems to burn us. I don't think much of his defense though. I knew the Guardians have been struggling but I assumed it was their lack of quality pitchers. My bad...
  15. Boyd and Norris...together again..🤣🤣 Oops...this post was from last year. My bad...
  16. And talking about trading 2 of them. That may have been the plan all season but the Tigers are on a roll. Making the playoffs is a longshot but so is getting "prospects" for established players. Flaherty, I can see getting traded, he was signed to improve and move at the deadline but trading both of these guys sounds a bit like giving up....before August. SMH
  17. Final note on this completed 4 game series; Colt Keith started and play all 4 games without striking out a single time. Pretty impressive. He's fitting into the 2 hole pretty nicely.
  18. Another training camp body?
  19. I don't think they can trade both of those guys without getting at least 2 starting pitchers back. And that would be a push, we would still be short 2 SP. But we'll see what Harris does, we still have a week.
  20. We already need 2 starting pitchers now. I suppose we could stretch out Faedo and/or Brieske. Maybe Holton. But the choices are pretty limited. I just don't see Skubal getting moved if we trade Flaherty. Another week to go...
  21. Trade Skubal and it practically guarantees they won't win next year or 2026. The Tigers are very thin at starting pitching.
  22. And Montero will be our only remaining starting pitcher. Good plan. Keep Flaherty and Skubal and go out and get another SP. I wanna win now!!
  23. Pitching. Their lineup is championship scary but their pitching is borderline playoff. This division really is open to whichever team gets hot. Why not us? Tigers going to be buyers instead of sellers? Stranger things have happened...
