  1. 1st and goal at the Lions 6 yard line, 1st and 10 at the Lions 11 yard line and 1st and 10 at the Lions 13 yard line. So yeah, none were very short-to-go but they had 12 chances to get a TD. Sure, credit to the Lions D but that falls more on the Rams coaches choking away golden opportunities to win the game. With a veteran QB, they should have had a better outcome. Classic choke job. 😆
  2. Every time I rewatch the Rams/Lions playoff game, the thing the sticks out to me is how conservative the Rams were. 3 times in the red zone they settled for field goals. With a veteran QB in Stafford, the inability of turning one of those field goals into a TD was the difference in the game. Playing scared in the NFL rarely works.
  3. Many of these young players lost a year of development during Covid. Parker us still very young and he shows promise. His defense and speed doesn't go into slumps. He just needs to hit to make him a valuable piece. Bring him back and stick him in center.
  4. Building a team strictly thru the draft takes several years. Has he made any trades to speed up our rebuild? The problem with trading our young players for proven stars is that the proven stars are much more expensive. And for all we know, Harris isn't allowed to increase the payroll. We can't assume he can just by players who were signed a few years ago. So it's either young and inexperienced players or waiver wire pickups. Or even free agent utility players who are affordable and can play several positions. He built this roster with the idea that Meadows would hit and be a leadoff hitter with Tork hitting 30 to 40 home runs. That idea blew up in our face.
  5. We need Meadows right now. Putting a DH in LF isn't ideal. And the fact that he can't hit. We used Baddoo as a defensive replacement!! And he struggles at the plate too. Send Malloy and Baddoo back down and bring Meadows back up. I don't care who else they bring up, as long as the can hit a little bit better than Baddoo and Malloy.
  6. Perfect game to have my internet go out. So no streaming on the TV. It finally cleared up just in time for the 7th inning. Fun game...
  7. True. Ok, we need a centerfielder. Parker pt. II?
  8. Not going to destroy a young players development. It'll never happen.
  9. I love watching an entire game just to watch our BP lose the game late. Makes me want to just keep watching...
  10. We need a leftfielder.
  11. Vest? That's the best you got? Nice try, Detroit. You lose....again.
  12. Ok...you have a run to work with. Don't blow it.
  13. Atlanta forecast cooler than Metro Detroit for the next few days. Still freakin' hot though.
  14. Yeah, in Chicago;
  15. Well, signing Bates for 2 years is telling. I think the job may be his to lose. And they say Turner has a big leg, accuracy may be his biggest problem. That may leave Bagley out of the picture. It would be a nice problem to have, too many good kickers...
  16. Yeah, I understood what he meant. But that ruins my story of how the Tigers announcers constantly make excuses for the Tigers. That's what happens when the team employs the announcer and not the network.
  17. Yeah, no reason for Tiger fans to turn on each other. Let's just bad mouth the announcers...did anyone hear Dan Petry make an excuse yesterday for McKinstry misplaying a ground ball? Petry said the sun was in his eyes...on a ground ball...🤣🤣🤣
  18. The article in the free press said the practice squad is a possibility. I don't see it but stashing one there makes sense.
  19. I don't think any fan of a team wants to see them no hit, or even shut out. I know I don't wanna see it. But I'm not going to make excuses for the horrible roster decisions our management makes. Not gonna be a slappy and defend their not even caring about the product the suckers...err...fans have to watch.
  20. That worked for the WSox, right? The Tigers won't change their business plan just because of game results. Every business wants to keep overhead down. The Tigers payroll is overhead and the lower it goes, the more money they make. Gotta watch that bottom line.
  21. Past performance doesn't mean much. Sometimes players fall off a cliff and the team follows them if they're counted on to do what they did in past years.
  22. But wait until May and June, he has always been a slow starter. And he was affordable for 2 seasons. A bargain. 🥴🥴
  23. The Lions are signing Bates to a 2 year contract on Tuesday. Holmes says he's fine with keeping 3 kickers because the new kickoff rules makes them more prone to injury.
  24. Houston BP really worked today. Wore them out.
  25. I guess the Perez slump was shortlived? 4 for 6 today.
