  1. Maybe Johnson is just waiting for the right fit. He sees the way Brad and Dan agree on how to build a team and stay the course, even when it got rough. Having a working relationship with the GM is incredibly important for success.
  2. 2 more weeks? The Lions really made the baseball off-season fly by. So, which major free agents have the Tigers signed with Miggys contract off the books? I haven't really heard of any moves.
  3. Very good show. Gets me even more fired up for next season!
  4. Cornerbacks thru the draft usually take a couple of years experience before they're effective. Unless you can get the best one coming out. But the Lions low draft pick won't be the best CB. I really trust Holmes to find us some talented players though. I say FA for some secondary help, a kicker and o-line. Draft the best edge rusher(s) they can. But Holmes knows what he's doing, we'll see how it all plays out...
  5. Is Sutton actually the problem? It's a chicken or egg thing. In today's NFL, no CB can cover a receiver (especially a #1 receiver) for an extended time. Getting consistent pressure on a QB always makes a CB look much better. The way the rules are set up are all for offensive scoring, that's the way the NFL wants it. Scoring is exciting, defensive games don't get the huge ratings. And Goff? He's an upper tier QB in Johnsons gameplan, the Lions scored plenty. We just need defense, defense and some more defense. Oh, and a kicker who can make field goals from 40+ yards.
  6. This news makes me feel better about a Goff extension. Pay the man!!
  7. I came here to post the same news. Are we sure it's true? I sure hope so. And I am SO glad I have "that guy" on my ignore list!!
  8. Oh, it's not a prediction. I'm sure opening day will be a celebration. Summer is here! (Even if it snows). But I mean their record after the 1st 40 games or so. Please let them be over .500.
  9. Against elite teams, I bet that 4th down % would be lower. But I also won't second guess the gamble, it's what gotten them there in the 1st place. And more importantly, any FG attempt would have been Badgley's longest of the year. And his % over 40 yards is really low. So you wanna give them 7 more yards by missing a kick? I've seen teams with terrible kickers punt in that situation. Would people like that better?
  10. The Lions seemed more impatient on a few drives in the 2nd half. Instead of chunk plays, they went for a home run ball on a few occasions, including a couple trick plays. Staying the course, they may have been able to sustain a few of those 2nd half drives. Dropped passes were a huge issue. Those would also have extended drives. And shorter drives may have been the reason for fewer run plays?
  11. I don't know. Opening day, yes. But if the Tigers get off to another terrible start, they may stay away. But who knows? We supported the Lions for decades of terrible play.
  12. OK, Tigers. The Lions are putting pressure on you. We need a deep playoff run from you to create some interest. All of people's extra $$'s are being spent on the Lions. Unless you want to play in front of an empty stadium, I suggest you bring your A game. You need to earn fan interest now, we're very picky who we root for. 😆😆😆
  13. I was giving you the benefit of the doubt but your responses just show you're nothing but a troll. The QB who guided this team to its best stretch of football in 60+ years is nothing but a game manager? That just proves you know very little about the game of football. Be gone with you, troll. Plonk!
  14. I said it was a drop. The pass wasn't perfect but it has to be caught in that situation.
  15. The drops were really uncharacteristic of this team. I never would have guessed that.
  16. After sleeping on it, I think the main issue with Campbell going for it on multiple 4th downs was our poor FG team. We need a good to great kicker. Bagley isn't that guy. And going for it on 4th downs may work fine against a regular season game against non-contenders but doing it against other SB contenders has to have a much lower % of success. And yet, the plays were there if the players had just executed. And coming back and scoring a late TD shows this team does have grit and never surrenders. I'm proud to be a Lions fan and I feel really good about our future. Just wait until next year!! 😆
  17. Depressed by the loss but happy that we had great success this season and looking forward to a bright future. A winning culture has been established.
  18. Yeah, the announcers said Gibbs went the wrong way. He never had complete control of the ball. Killer mistake at the worst possible time. Does anyone know how many times Gibbs fumbled this season?
  19. Well said. The enjoyment of the season wasn't erased by a stinging loss, we should be happy for the success we had.
  20. Wow...NFC Championship game and I had to put 2 unhappy whiners on ignore. Some people are never happy...
  21. The fumble was a killer. Gibbs hasn't fumbled much this season. Pretty good for a rookie. And this loss was horrible but the future is SO bright. And TBH, I didn't see the Lions beating KC.
  22. Some trolls only come out after a loss. I haven't seen much of you this season. 😆😆
