  1. Alex Lange is making a believer outta me. The guy's stuff is filthy. BP arms are hard to find, sometimes just throwing money at it doesn't work.
  2. Greene was 0-3 and has been replaced in RF. Maybe that was the plan, ease him back?
  3. Careful. Can you imagine if we have even more injuries by the 4th of July? That's a scary thought, but possible.
  4. It could benefit the Tigers. Get a few injured players back and hope the team slump will be over. Sucks for us today though.
  5. So they should have taken_________instead?
  6. Still no answer? Who did you want them to take? A sure "hit"?
  7. Not if they need TJ surgery. The Tigers would still have to offer them contracts for next season. And the earliest they could come back is 2024.
  8. And I'm already planning my recovery from monkeypox.
  9. Boyd got hurt and was due for arbitration. Tigers let him walk. Hopefully, Mize and Mannkng come back and earn new contracts with the Tigers.
  10. Looking back on the draft, who did you want the Tigers to take? Hindsight is always 20-20.
  11. If we ever get healthy, even a bit at a time, we could be pretty good. I'm actually surprised at how well our depth at starting pitching is doing. As well as the BP. They're keeping us in the games, it's the offense that's been the problem.
  12. In the end, it didn't even matter. Candy's homer would have given us a 1 run win, since our BP was shutting down the Twins.
  13. Our home run leader from last season is firmly planted on the bench. And we're having problems scoring runs and have shown little power. That makes sense.
  14. Win today and take a split. No way are they playing tomorrow.
  15. I used to get inner-ear infections. They were horrible, dizzy spells and fevers. Used to last a good week or so. I feel for Austin.
  16. Schoop in the 2 hole. Gotta get him at least 5 at bats. Work himself out of a 2 month slump.
  17. Dont bring him up because Schoop is in a slump. Bring him up to replace him. The Mets owed Robinson Cano big, big money. And they still cut him because he was only hitting .180. Yeah, OK. The Tigers aren't scoring runs consistently and Schoop is hitting ~.160. But by all means, let him play all summer to see if he starts hitting. In years past, before huge contracts were guaranteed, he would have been cut. I guess it's just that I dread seeing him come to bat and kill any possibility of a....rally.
  18. But sometimes you need to cut your losses. I'm not saying trade him now, wait to see if Kriedler can play an acceptable defense at 2nd base. I'm pretty confident he can hit a bit better than .160. And trading Schoop shouldn't be too hard if we pick up his salary. It's a sunken cost anyway. This team needs some life.
  19. If Schoop is still hitting .160 when Kreidler's healthy, call him up. Good defense will only matter if you're not a total black hole in the batting order. It's why we didn't just go with Short at SS, he didn't hit. It's hard to believe Schoop is only 30 years old. He plays like a 38 year old.
  20. The Padres signed a washed-up 39 year old Robinson Cano. So I think we could unload Schoop. Or start waiting for him to hit in June or July.
  21. I agree. We can't wait until mid-June every season to see if Schoop is going to hit or not. Keep him around for insurance but take offers at the trade deadline. If Al was any good, he would trade him for Mike Trout. 🤣🤣🤣
  22. And then later in the 70's (or maybe '80's) the Underwood Brothers faced each other in Toronto.
  23. I've always hated the attitude of making thousands of people pay the price for several obnoxious drunks. If you can see who's doing it with the cameras, deal with them. But don't penalize the whole crowd.
  24. Oh...I thought Kriedler was a leftie. OK...just replace Schoop and see if he's able to handle 2nd base. Trade Schoop at the deadline if so. This team needs energy.
  25. I would love to see Kriedler up to platoon, for now, with Schoop. This team needs energy. But it will start getting really ugly until we get some starting pitchers back.
