    I agree. Long term contracts can hinder a team. But it's the market now. If you want quality veteran arms, you'll have to pay them the going rate.

    The Tigers only hope is for him to not optout and help lure a couple of quality free agents here with all the money coming off the books. So, keep Rodriguez, find some players to come here, spend the necessary money. We'll see where the bottleneck appears. Was it Ivan Rodriguez or Magglio that helped the Tigers get some other players aboard?

    How much of our current payroll must we shed before we can offer good players contracts? Nobody will want to come here if we don't offer them a competitive contracts.

    Are we blindly trusting Harris knows what he's doing just like we trusted Avila to know what he was doing? It's going to be a long 4 or 5 years.

    It would be nice to have players who earn playing time rather than have to play them because they make a lot of money. Novel concept....

    I agree we need more talent but I question if these AAA players are the answer. We need to replace several players on the 26 man roster. Yes, you named a few but there are several more who won't be around next season. Cisnero? Trade or release him.

    Or count on them to carry the team and when they fail, all the fans can just blame them. Better not make any trades or sign any free agents to make space for these unproven players. Never forget Scott Sizemore...😅😅

    Maton strikes out with runners on 2nd and 3rd with one out. The sound instantly got turned off when Craig started gushing how much he LOVED Matons approach. Just leave him in Florida please. Unwatchable.

    No, that's an extreme. The Mets are/were stupid giving out all of those contracts. I just want the Tigers to sign 2 quality players or so. A RH hitting 3rd baseman would be nice. Maybe RH outfield bat too?

    I like your optimism. Give it a few years and see how it goes. There were many fans saying to give Avila time too. But he lost his credibility when he extended Brad instead of firing him. At least, IMO.

    I agree. I would like him to sign a 2 season contract. But I assume the playbook may be different for him? He's a totally different QB than Goff.

    I'm not a big Harris fan either. At least, not yet. He's made a couple of good moves but also a few questionable ones. I don't dislike him but I will be a fan if he builds a winner. Let's give him a couple of years. Chris has to open the pocketbook though.
