Kinda dumb when we have been missing Olson, Cobb, Vierling, Perez and Meadows all year.
I am team Skubal all the way, but Fried is having a great season too so I can see that argument at this point. It’ll keep tilting towards Skubal as the season goes on though.
The other thing with platooning Carpenter is that Hinch can use him later in the game when the starter is out in key situations….plus we have a couple of guys that bat right handed that can play his position just as well who hit lefties better.
Greene provides better defense and overall skill set so it makes a lot less sense to use him in that way.
There’s a wide variety of productive shortstops nowadays. 25 years ago when I was into fantasy it was A-Rod/Nomar/Tejada/Jeter or bust. Maybe you’d catch a couple good years out of a Rich Aurilia or Edgar Renteria….but beyond that you were fielding a SS in fantasy just because you had to, not because they added value
