  1. Torkelson is gonna need a bobble head of himself tapping his helmet. Seems like every game I watch he gets a BS strike called against him in almost every AB
  2. I’d just like to say one thing: With the ABS system going into use next year— I expect Spencer Torkelsons stats to rise dramatically.
  3. I assumed it was both the offer and that he knew the staff and performed well with them last year. He didn’t help himself with the top teams by not having a good WS, plus LA signed everyone under the sun last offseason.
  4. One other potential thing that may arise is that I don’t know if you can go into next year with the assumption that Jobe and Olson will be contributing much. Jobe obviously coming off the surgery, but Olson has an injury history that’s piling up. Odds that the two of them will be full strength for a lot of the year is slim. Same with SGL. Should Flaherty leave, we may need to spend a good amount of capital just to fill out next years rotation beyond Skubal and Mize or risk being uncompetitive.
  5. True. Im indifferent on him returning, but there also isn’t much in the free agent market that’s exciting either. Zach Littell could be an interesting pickup. Maybe we could make a run at Suarez or Cease instead.
  6. Yeah I just think he would want to exercise the option, try to have a better year optically and get a bigger deal than test the waters this year. He’s been a bit Jekyll and Hyde-ish since we dealt him last year.
  7. There’s no way he doesn’t exercise the option. He hasn’t been good this year.
  8. I want Skubal locked up long term, however… If they internally know that they don’t intend to do everything they can to re-sign Skubal, then trade him this offseason for multiple major league ready contributors at places of need. Don’t keep him for half a year next year and risk getting a reduced return on him at the deadline. We won’t know what teams will be in play to trade for him next deadline until we get to June. And if they deal Skubal in the offseason, then they need to legitimately address all other areas of need with the team via free agency. As in: Get a shortstop, get a minimum of two legit starters and get a minimum of 3 established bullpen arms who aren’t injury/bounceback guys. What you can’t do is trade Skubal/let him walk next year AND not spend money on other positions. That should get Harris fired and Chris Illitch run out of town.
  9. Time to show we are a serious franchise and uncover the whales
  10. Yeah I mean…..if we are gonna collapse, I’d feel a lot better if they expressed some anger about it as competitors rather than just going full Minnesota Twins
  11. If they fall out of the playoffs, Hinch needs to go. This team hasn’t shown up to play in 6 weeks aside from two games against the Yankees. Less and less I think last year was about Hinch and more that it was just us using a bunch of pitchers that other teams didn’t have a chance to scout
  12. No more posturing from Vest. You’re not the guy.
  13. Carpenter I wouldn’t mind because he’s a lot more one dimensional, so he shouldn’t command as big of a contract to retain. However, it would be nice to see him play a full season without missing significant time….
  14. Whomever is supposedly the vocal leader of this team needs to get fired up. Needs to be someone other than Skubal
  15. Whatever happened to us drawing walks?
  16. Watch Rutgers piece up Iowa on FOX
  17. It’s not just the strikeouts for me even though I hate them. I don’t think he’s going to age well and the decline will start early.
  18. I get what you’re saying, I wouldn’t want that one remade. The homerun scene at the end is one of the best in movie history. plus you know the remake would star Chris Pratt or Pedro Pascal or some other overrated actor.
  19. I’m firmly in the trade Riley and don’t extend him camp
  20. We’re really talking about a playoff pitching staff? Lets actually start playing like we aren’t the Rockies first
  21. He would’ve had to put 8 figures down to make any money on a Javy “ground out weakly” at bat
  22. I see we are back to swinging at trash and watching fastballs right down the middle. Vintage 2021 Tigers
  23. Whatever happened to the emoji that had the spear through its head and bleeding?
