I’d much rather have any other team besides Cleveland win it. Give me Seattle or Toronto. Milwaukee would be fun too. Doubt Cincy gets there but that’d be amazing.

That makes sense. Can’t have Hurter or Holton be long relief in case you need them the next game for matchups. Plus it’s gives Hinch a lot more flexibility with how to utilize Melton. I would rather see Melton start game 2 if we win game one and use Flaherty in relief….even if Flaherty starts and does well, we will probably be in the bullpen by the 5th inning—-which is not ideal for us.

Why would we keep Keider rostered for this series? Horn should be up, otherwise we have to potentially navigate 3 games with just two lefties in the pen, and it potentially limits Holton to one inning appearances.

If Trey Sweeney is in the starting lineup for any of these three games, then someone needs to be fired.

Cleveland hasn’t been ever truly bad since the 80s. They’ve been consistently competitive save for a random year or two since the mid 90s. They haven’t seemingly ever had to go through a difficult rebuild. They almost always have a player that destroys us regardless of how good or bad they are. They ALWAYS end up with good pitching staffs despite very few of their prospects being top of the prospect lists. They very rarely blatantly end up losing trades. Combine that with stuff like constantly contending for the division without ever spending money on free agents. Being able to replace the major leaguers they trade with scrap parts and having it work. I just wish this franchise would have a nice 10-12 run at the bottom of the division like the other 4 teams have had to endure. All the times Jose Ramirez magically is at bat in big situations. Stuff like Steven Kwan being perfectly positioned every single time. They’re bottom of the order coming up clutch all the time despite collectively hitting .150 against the rest of the league. The blown call on the Galarraga perfect game. I can’t stand them.

I don’t expect us to win- not because we suck but because our opponent is Cleveland….and they have tortured me as a fan for my entire life. So I have grown to expect them to hurt me every year as much as possible. I loathe them with every fiber of my being. People who think our rival is Toronto or another AL Central team are out of their mind.
