  1. Side note: If I never have to see the Scrubs guys sing in commercials ever again, I’ll make a donation to your favorite charity
  2. Difficult to deal with must mean not wanting to part with a top 75 prospect for a 31 year old reliever.
  3. Well Enns was dealt to Baltimore, so there’s one free spot. I assume Jackson and then either Lee or Montero goes to Toledo
  4. Hadn’t they already said they were looking for a partner to sell to?
  5. Sounds like Melton is going to the bullpen and Morton to the rotation. Melton could be a very effective reliever. So we sort of added another bullpen arm in that sense. Curious who comes off the 26 man for Morton and Finnegan. Hopefully Luke Jackson.
  6. ESPN considers us one of the losers of the trade deadline. which means we had a solid deadline.
  7. I’d have been fine with not acquiring Morton. Hopefully we gave up nothing more than some magic beans and a sack of baseballs
  8. Yeah but wait till he gets hooked back up to the buzzer system
  9. Danny Coloumbe just got moved. He would have been a very very nice addition for us
  10. Very good point. We’d have to screw up big time at this point to not make the playoffs—and a lot of what happens once you get to the playoffs small sample size and somewhat unpredictable. Better to make some small additions to the roster than sell off prospects that will likely be a part of many more future playoff runs. The Tigers are BY FAR in the best position for this year and the next 5 years out of all teams in the division—so going for broke at a single trade deadline doesn’t make that much sense. As much as I want the Tigers to bring in a bunch of established talent, I’d rather they be conservative at this point. We went balls to the wall with DD at the helm and it never paid off fully…..why not try a different strategy?
  11. I was thinking the same thing. It gives a few guys in the pen a chance to turn things around and if they don’t, then we have some ML caliber options to swap them out with.
  12. Not sure why they’re higher on Liranzo than Briceno. The K/BB rates are night and day
  13. Finnegan is a good acquisition for the cost
  14. We probably could have….but everyone else knew Avila was awful and took advantage of him.
  15. I say go for Keller since he’s under control for several years, and with Jobe/Olson out for the year and Flaherty being hit or miss—I’d like the ML experience depth there. Hopefully Melton can build off that last start and Paddack can be consistent, but we need a #3 guy right now. There’s no more help coming in the system and going into the playoffs with Skub/Mize/Flaherty/Paddack isn’t super ideal.
  16. Give me Bednar and Keller for Liranzo, Anderson and Hamm. Dont trade any of Clark/McGonigle/Rainer/Briceno under any circumstances. I’m not super interested in acquiring another bat among those who are on supposedly on the block.
  17. They should. Outside of J-Ram, Bibee, Kwan and Smith that roster is terrible
  18. We just acquired Rafael Montero from the Braves for Jim Jarvis
  19. There’s zero reason to trade Clark for Kwan. Clark is Kwan with a lot more upside.
