  1. I didn’t realize position players wore pitchcomms too
  2. This site has been running slower than Sean Casey lately
  3. I’d much rather the 1-4 be Torres, McGonigle, Keith, Torkelson. Greene and Carpenter are certainly impactful, but they don’t do as good of a job making pitchers get them out since they both sell out for power swings. My frustration as a fan is going to be heavily related to whether or not these guys show real strike zone improvements and on-base abilities this year. This will be year 3 of “dominating the zone”. McGonigle as a rookie gets a pass-but he’s already better at it that most. Everyone else needs to be at minimum making themselves tougher outs this year….especially Greene/Tork/Carp/Meadows think Dingler and Keith will be much better, and I can live with Javy being Javy because the defense is there, but if Jung/Anderson/Lee start hitting their way onto the roster, then Javy needs to be the 26th guy.
  4. Ok let’s pull him before this gets out of hand. He’s fooling no one
  5. I’m gonna assume that’s a home run in every other park but here
  6. You gotta hit it like 430 to get it out to center
  7. This game has the makings of Hurter coming in and pitching 3 scoreless garbage time innings to make his era look good
  8. Verlanders arsenal tonight is arrow straight fastballs and hanging breaking balls
  9. Can we please drop Carpenter to like 5th or 6th and move Gleyber to leadoff
  10. Guess we have to worry about Skubal leaving after this year and signing with Cure Auto Insurance
  11. Shoot. Was hoping he would sneak through
  12. Don Kelly
  13. Trading away Frank Catalonotto was far more upsetting to me.
  14. Yeah it’ll be really interesting what the prevailing strategy with it ends up being. And likewise, will teams be more likely to challenge their own pitches or the opposing teams pitches? I’d trust Dingler to challenge close pitches that we throw. I think Salvy Perez won three challenges in a row the other day.
  15. It’s not like the umpire scorecards that have been around for years haven’t already been exposing Bucknor, Eddings and Laz Diaz. The union will protect them as always.
  16. I’m of the opinion that if there’s a questionable call early even in low leverage, it’s worth challenging. What if it gets reversed and leads to the SP having to throw 10 more pitches that inning? That could be a lot more impactful on the outcome of a game than making Mason Miller throw one more unhittable pitch.
  17. Yeah I don’t understand the “save challenges for later” approach. If it’s clearly a ball, challenge it
  18. No, but I do it in game threads
  19. Awful showing by the offense today except Keith.
  20. I’m not a fan of Carpenter leading off. I get why Hinch likes that, but Carp is so aggressive at the dish and having him lead off just always seems like he’s in HR or Bust mode. Carp is at his best when he works a count a little bit and waits for the mistake.
