  1. I see no alternative to a 6 year Bregman deal becoming anything besides another payroll boat anchor.
  2. I’m hoping for Kim, Flaherty and Buehler. Which means we will get Bregman and Heaney….
  3. Well… 500 Akil Baddoos = 1 Juan Soto
  4. He does a couple of things well enough to have some value—namely baserunning. He’s also had some decent numbers at AAA the last few seasons and is only 26 and bats left handed. Put him in a park with a short RF to platoon or on a winning team to pinch run for a slow 1B/C/DH late in games. I can see certain teams being able to see value in him for a very cheap price. Even if he’s just picked up and stashed in AAA, he’s not a bad emergency depth piece to have.
  5. Surprisingly, Baddoo cleared waivers.
  6. Seems like nobody actually wants Bregman but some team will settle.
  7. Yeah but sometimes that calls comes from the owner
  8. I just don’t want to see us have the mindset that we have plenty of payroll flexibility now to hand out some big contracts only to then turn around and put that player in the lineup every day even if they severely underperform because we are paying them a lot. If we are going to go for some home run signings then we have to be willing to accept that sometimes they’ll just be pop ups and move forward.
  9. Looking at Bergman’s hit chart, I don’t think it’s wild to say that he’d be a 15-18 HR guy at best if he played half his games in Comerica and he’s gonna hit less doubles because his fly balls to left aren’t gonna bounce off a short wall. Is that what’s gonna get us to the next level for 6 years and $150-200 million? Probably 5-10 more XBH than Vierling with worse base running? If you wanted to put Bregman at 1B and keep Tork in Toledo or trade him for some magic beans, I feel like that would be the more impactful move….but even then there are other 1B options that are better to go after and probably cheaper. Extend Riley and Skubal instead.
  10. I feel like Bergman’s offensive numbers would crater in Comerica vs playing in that Mickey Mouse ballpark he’s been in. I have more faith in Vierling as a regular 3B
  11. The White Sox are gonna lose 140 games next year
  12. All this talk of Pudge and Vina…. what about my man Rondell White?
  13. I’d rather they pay Fetter than Bregman
  14. We’d have to give up the same pick if it were Pete Alonso as well, right?
  15. I’d be a bit surprised if someone doesn’t pick him up.
  16. No. I’d prefer they pass the savings onto the fans and the stadium event employees if they’re making so much money. Or invest it back into the cities that support the teams. but that’ll never happen.
  17. Call me insane, but with all of the struggles going on in the country, it’s getting really hard to read about the amounts of money high level baseball players are getting now. I’m all for them getting theirs….but good grief.
  18. I like the Cobb signing. Now go get Buehler or Flaherty.
  19. And the stadium workers
  20. I’m swinging towards us needing to trade Skubal next summer unless we are in control of the division. There’s no way we are going to extend him or re-sign him for what he will get on the open market…..nor should we. Too much long term financial burden for a short term success.
  21. Soto to the Mets. 15 years 765 million.
  22. I’d do that in a heartbeat.
  23. Hopefully from someone else.
  24. The Jose Guillen throw from deep right field to third base still amazes me. I can’t find the clip but there was an Iglesias play where the batter hit a tapper between the mound and third base and Iggy ran in, dove at it and bare handed it and threw it across his body as he was in the air aimed towards home plate to get the runner at first. That was always my favorite infield defensive play.
