  1. Kinda irks me that the Tigers haven't made a splash like this. Huge area of need. The waiver wire isn't the place to patch together a bullpen that is serious about contending. Dodgers, Dodgers, Dodgers.
  2. I agree. I was responding to a post that no SP are under contract post 2026. The guys I mentioned are under team control, Olson, Jobe etc so it's not like Harris has to add 5-6 SP after 2026
  3. Schwarber staying in Philly. Flippin' Dodgers signing Edwin Diaz.
  4. I do agree. My point was in response that the cupboard is completely barren after 2026. It's not.
  5. True, but they do have Olson, Jobe, Melton, Gibson-Long and Montero under team control. But I do agree, without additions there could be a significant step backwards
  6. In Harris' briefing he mentioned not bringing in free agents that will block young players. Per free press interest in Bregman is "low." I interpret that as no big splashes. Probably Keith at 3rd, Javy at SS. One of Lee or Anderson is probably on the team. I still expect a couple new relief pitchers (or one and Finnegan). Hoping one of King or Gallen or similar will be added to SP rotation. But I will temper expectations and expect Harris to mostly run it back.
  7. Yes, incredible cap flexibility. 1/24 committed Javy and 3/15 committed to Keith, with more years with club options - that's all that is committed in salary post 2026. Maybe Harris set that up due to uncertainty with the cba. Or maybe (likely) that's his ongoing preference. Therebis room for some risk. I prefer that risk be placed on Skubal. Not Alex Cobb.
  8. Maybe, hopefully. Last year Harris offered Cobb 15 right out of the gate. I highly doubt any other team offered him anything close. Harris showed a history of going in with an offer he sees as market rate and he's been off before
  9. I think the Tigers have a few likely regression candidates and depending on who Harris brings in, I will not be very surprised if the Tigers miss the playoffs in 2026. Hopefully players like Keith continue to ascend and Vierling comes back at his 2024 level. And hopefully Harris does bring in a couple notable players. The memory of September still lingers in my head, like a bad commercial jingle sung by William Shatner
  10. Love the post! but as I read it a second time, in the dark web of my mind I heard Charlton Heston screaming something about soylent Green and now I have diarrhea
  11. Some pitching ninja love for Wayne State https://www.facebook.com/share/r/1CcE7tEr7f/
  12. You have to scroll in several minutes, but here is some Skubal info directly from Onley yesterday. Executives are telling him they expect Skubal to be traded and the haul will be huge
  13. A team can go 20 years or more without a player of Skubal's talent. The Tigers are fortunate to have him on the heels of JV and Max. If a package doesn't include a McLean or a Schlittler type mlb ready guy, plus prospects I will be very disappointed. Even with McLean and Schlittler there is still plenty of uncertainty. I know Scoobs can also get hurt. The fact that it is out that Detroit is listening deserves bad haiku: Scoobs is like Elvis Handing fans pink Cadillac Don't die on the loo
  14. Huge news, the Tigers sign SP Drew Anderson to a 1 yr deal with a 2nd club option. Had a good year in Korea last year. 31 yo. I do not recall him in mlb. Tigers To Sign Drew Anderson - MLB Trade Rumors https://share.google/27rb6OM42173zF5he
  15. That's a good point. And also all the more to appreciate Wockenfuss
  16. Yep. That shuts down there comfortable flow.
  17. Ugliest game of the year. Worse than Cleveland game. Jenkins coming back to earth a bit. Last 2 games he is 5-24 from the floor, 1-13 from 3. Cade has 18 and 17 points in those games. They haven't had their flow these games - I do think they miss Duncan.
  18. BA with some thoughts on Det farm https://www.baseballamerica.com/stories/2026-detroit-tigers-top-mlb-prospects/
  19. Tiger Territory today mentioned Valdez, suggesting he'd require ~ 5/140. They said that's not Harris' way, but having him and Skubal at the top of the rotation would be formidable and would show Skubal that they mean business. Harris usually requires some significant injury history before his interest gets peaked. So I don't expect Valdez to be a Tiger.
  20. I appreciated the one and only John Bilton Wockenfuss, Johnny B (RIP). He was with the Tigers through most of their lean years, post Kaline, Cash, and others, then he got traded after 1983 and missed out on the championship.
  21. Tigers interest in King being reported. Risky, but I'd like to see it
  22. Ponce to Toronto on 3/30 deal. The Jays are all in.
  23. I'd rather be a cassowary than a shoebill stork
  24. I like Bichette, but I do not see Toronto letting him walk.
