  1. Bill James has called him the most underrated player of all time
  2. Cohen paid JV 43.3 mil for 3 years entering his age 38 season. The Mets will offer Skubal more than 40 mil per.
  3. In post season games: 26 times a pitcher threw at least 6 shutout innings giving up no runs and 2 or fewer hits, while striking out at least 10. 12 players have hit 3 home runs in a game. Ohtani just did both in the same game.
  4. Now 3 HR for Ohtani. Along with 6 inn pitched, 1 hit, 0 runs, 10 Ks. This might be the greatest performance in a game that I have ever seen. He plays in a video game!
  5. Trammel answered this during the spring. He acknowledges how much better the pitching and training is. He said he and old school stars would struggle, then adapt to the current level, and be stars in today's era. That seems right to me
  6. I was just telling this to a family member. They are healthy now. One could argue the team they have on the field today is the greatest team of all time. And they have a top shelf farm system. Pencil in 5 of the next 10 WS, unless the CBA becomes a barrier to their model, which it might
  7. Cohen will offer 10/400+. Mets fans know it, and they are exploding their minds on social media right now.
  8. He'll not challenge any all-time records, but yeah. To me he has become the goat. The level he plays in both roles is elite, and today he is showcasing it all
  9. New York Mets media and fans are basically talking like he is a Met. Boras has a close relationship with them and he was likely behind Heyman's post. Doesn't mean much, the Tigers have control, but this is frustrating as a Tigers fan. I do think Boston could make a push, and probably another half dozen teams.
  10. That's a great point. I could see Boras doing that
  11. The Brewers need to see this and be reminded! Dodgers gotta go down. 21 years ago tonight https://www.facebook.com/share/v/17ZZzX8mxN/
  12. Agree! It's crazy how many times the post has been shared on social media sites. Heyman posted it to get the attention. He knows there is no way Skubal would make an offer now for less than 170 million. The shared post created a bit of a frenzy amongst other mlb fans. A lot of buzz right now.
  13. Phillies expected to trade or release Castellanos Phillies To Trade Or Release Nick Castellanos - MLB Trade Rumors https://share.google/jTWSH9dOkG127KadI
  14. If they take a great package for Skubal, then sign Cease and JV, it would lessen the blow for me
  15. I think there will be a bidding war for Skubal. There are going to be several teams that are close to elite that will look at him as a potential huge piece. Of course he is that for the Tigers, too. It will be an interesting winter. I very much hope Detroit finds a way to sign him. I expect him to start in Det and if they are not in contention, he'll get traded at the deadline. Or he sticks to the end, and Det gets a comp pick. This has all been posted by several here. I'm just ruminating on it because trade speculation is all over social media
  16. Puts things in perspective as to how hard it is to make it to the show. Although I would add that Terry Forster would take up 2 seats.
  17. I wonder if Illich/Harris would consider something deferred. Maybe 10/500 with half deferred? If he stays healthy for 5 years he potentially could be an excellent closer on the back half. I think Harris should consider being creative. It would be huge for the Tigers to keep him
  18. I'm curious if Illitch's divorce will impact Skubal negotiations at all?
  19. Giving a contract north of 10 mil to a pitcher coming off an injury age 35+ is like buying an old salvage title car with a lot of miles. Just not smart. I would think Harris has learned that now.
  20. Max probably got himself a 15-20 mil contract for next season if he still wants to pitch
  21. On DD: It's starting to look like Philly is approaching the 2015 Tigers. They have a few huge contracts on the books, and have Schwarber, Realamuto and Suarez as current free agents. They could be facing a reboot/rebuild in a few years.
  22. Toronto's offense is most everything that Harris wants Detroit to be. And Max pitched a good one
  23. Dodgers are 8-1 this post season and their SP era is sub 1.50. We're seeing what a healthy Dodgers team looks like. And they are doing this with a slumping Ohtani.
  24. I agree. Heyman's post was sent to stir up buzz. No way Harris would offer "significantly less that 170 million." That's just silly. That was likely the "non competetive" offer made last year. I can see Boras starting negotiations with something like 11/500 and someone will ultimately offer 10/400-450, and it won't be Detroit. He'll be traded or lost for a comp pick.
