  1. RIP Tom Timmerman. My early Tigers memories include Tom and his glasses. Tom Timmermann Passes Away - MLB Trade Rumors https://share.google/hREyYsb16BYd9mGcP
  2. You can borrow my tinnitus if you want
  3. Torres has until Tuesday to decide on his QO. Hopefully this week we'll hear more buzz.
  4. I'm fascinated by the career of Chris Davis. He played 13 seasons and in 3 of those seasons his combined war was 15. The other 10 seasons his combined was -3.5 In his final season his ops+ was -8. I cannot wrap my head around that. His compensation for that production was nearly 200 million
  5. That's what I see too. Both coaches changed the culture. Philly looked winded and flat-footed in the 4th. Coach JB has them right. Intense D from start to finish, every player on the team. Even Duncan took a charge.
  6. When Ted Williams was 38 he had a 9.7 war playing in only 132 games. His ops+ was 233.
  7. That's awesome!
  8. I've been a diehard fan since the early 70s. I don't recall such an unlikely week as this. So much fun to watch! Now they are off until Monday and hopefully the starters are back.
  9. One of the articles mentioned he did go up against a top ranked pitcher and got multiple hits against him. Overall not great competition, but it's still good to see him succeed. Skubal went to games and posted "he's ready."
  10. Had a nightmare last night, woke up depressed. In it I was watching a Harris and Hinch presser touting the Tigers big get this offseason, Michael Lorenzen.
  11. Agree. Skenes and Skubal combined for 23 wins this year. Both would likely have been robbed of the cy 15 years ago
  12. I do understand that. The 8 year old in me still loves the look on the card. Had baseball-reference been around when I was a kid I would have failed every class except gym and math. Remember the Sunday sports page that showed all stats? Heaven. That was heaven.
  13. I still like the rbi stat. Hank Greenberg's career stats are a thing of beauty. Like looking at art for me. Same with Gehrig, Ruth, Williams, DiMaggio etc, but they played for evil teams
  14. Been thinking about Skubal's recent comments. He's likely hearing about all of the trade speculation, perhaps that's why he finally came out and said he'd love to stay in Detroit. I also wonder if he's read any of the posts on social media about his leaving game 5 after 6 innings? There is a lot of chatter about that, and the fact that Yamamato went 8 and 9. Skubal is such a competitor, that I won't be surprised to see him want to stretch his count out to 110-115.
  15. Given how Harris structured the Flaherty deal, I do think he'll come up with creative options. On MLB network they were saying they expect players to get heavy front-loaded offers due to the unknown aspect of the CBA. I like your idea and hope Harris does make a creative offer to Skubal that gives him highest aav and highest total salary for a SP
  16. Great coaching and incredible hustle - of course the coach also plays a role in that. I thoroughly enjoyed this game from start to finish, expecting them to ultimately lose. Terrible loss for the Bulls, lol
  17. 425 and going up.....
  18. I'll try it again Tarik Skubal trade rumors examined through Tigers' past trades https://share.google/traGkK3GseIkp5aJK
  19. The Big Red Machine came darn close
  20. Beck with some thoughts about the dilemma of to trade, or not to trade. He mentions past trades of DD, and when DD refrained. What Tigers history says about trading or keeping Skubal https://share.google/Wva1YFzdclkmtfa6L
  21. In the post season interview I saw with Skubal, he made it clear he believes a teams goal should be to win the WS. I do believe he is paying close attention to Detroit's off season moves. They did very little at the deadline. He was at the AZ fall league watching and posted 2 words about McGonigle "he's ready." I do think he likes Detroit and if Detroit matches offers I believe he would be open to staying. I just don't see Harris going that route
  22. Casey Stengel did it. So did Earl Weaver. It makes sense from a statistical standpoint if you have players like Carp.
  23. Are players able to sign yet? I forget what the window is post WS conclusion. I still want the Tigers to go for him. A couple upgrades and Detroit has a shot in 2026
  24. FYI Murakami hit .095 vs pitches 93+ last year. I do not see Harris bidding on him
