    Hate to say it, but this is further evidence that it makes little sense to give an 8+ year offer to Skubal. It's far more common for huge deals to pitchers to fail than to succeed. Not ruminating on it, going to enjoy his time with Detroit. But I realize odds are he doesn't stay beyond 2026

    I didn't realize how much young talent the Cubs have. They are a well rounded team, much like the Tigers, only perhaps the Cubs have a bit more talent.

    He is an excellent defensive catcher and he'll have his spot. But I also think he can expect to step aside for a pinch hitter later in games due to his offense.
