It's a risk for him to wait. There is still 1.25 seasons to go. He may start to show some drop-off next season. And there is the potential cba work stoppage. Kyle Tucker chose a similar path. And this year his stats are down. Reportedly he is playing hurt. But a low .800 ops and 139 ops+ isn't getting him 500 million, and that's what media was saying earlier this season. I'm not even confident he gets 400 million. He's had injuries, and his speed will be slowing.

I lived in Seattle from 1991-2000, and have been in Minneapolis the past 25 years. So my home stadiums were the Kingdome and then the Metrodome/Glad-bag-dome for many years, until Target Field was built. Horrible venues to watch a game (Target Field is excellent)! I'd never want that for Detroit either, but perhaps a retractable roof would have been useful for poor weather

He's pitched 4 games for Detroit. 2 positive starts, and 2 terrible starts. Both terrible starts were against the Twins. I think he'll be ok as a 5th starter/inning eater. He has the rest if this season to see how it goes. I haven't written him completely off. Not yet. He'll be a cheap one year guy. Harris loves those contracts.
