Glass half full:
The Tigers now sit in the final WC spot, a game up on Houston with the tie breaker. They're going to make the playoffs and turn this around. Greene's home run signaled his turn around. It's going to happen!
I think Harris will get incredible offers for skubal this winter. He's a generational talent with a bulldog mentality. I still hope Det will find a way to keep him.
Morton signs with Braves. Guessing to get a start and retire?
Braves Sign Charlie Morton - MLB Trade Rumors https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2025/09/snitker-charlie-morton-returning-to-braves.html
This year has been up and down for most contenders. The Mets were 25 over .500 and now are 4 above. It's just been a strange year. A lot of decent teams. Few, if any dominant teams. Det is still in good condition going forward.
Imho on paper the Tigers are about a .500 team without Skubal. They've regressed back to where they probably belong. 162 game season tends to even that out. If they do trade Skubal it could be a frustrating year in 2026.
Cleveland up 6-0 in the nightcap today. Lead will be 1 game. Final 3 on the road vs Boston, where they'll likely need to win 2 or 3.
At this point it's not only possible that the Tigers miss the playoffs, I'd say it's probable.
Cleveland now up 6-0.
Lead will be 1.
The Tigers just dropped 5.5 games in the standings to Cleveland in 5 games. I wonder if that's ever happened before?
As of today Detroit would have to play in the wild card round. And Detroit is just one game up on the final wild card. If Cleveland wins the division Detroit is probably out altogether.
