  1. Yep. I'm thinking first round bye.
  2. I said in my lifetime. I'm aging, but not quite old enough to have seen Old Hoss.
  3. Skenes pitched 6 shutout innings today va LAD. His yearly era dropped sub 2. In 53 career starts his career era is sub 2, and his whip is sub 1. I don't recall any pitcher in my lifetime coming out of the gate so strong. Maybe Gooden, who was a star at age 19. Seaver was excellent right away. Clemens by year 3. Vida Blue had that incredible first full season. But imho it's between Skenes and Doc Gooden. I enjoy watching Skenes' starts every time.
  4. With the broadcast staff changes it seems they're trying to target a younger audience. Us old fogies will stay no matter what. The last couple times Benetti has been paired with Dirks, it's been a bit less off script. They've likely received some feedback.
  5. Houston beat the Yanks. They are 3.5 behind Detroit for first round bye. Alvarez is healthy now. Went 4-4 today. ChiSox are playing better. Detroit needs to take that series.
  6. I'd like to see Bobby Scales do more games with Benetti. Dirks is a better match with Dickerson.
  7. Good to see Mize have decent start. Montero making some nice contributions.
  8. New York and Boston might end up atop the AL by season's end
  9. Pacheco's ops is up to .912. Still only 22. Should finally move up to Erie next season.
  10. And Houston is down 6-0, and Seattle is down 6-4 in the 8th. Division and first round bye remain solid.
  11. How many innings will Rogers go?
  12. The Ghost of Ichabod Paddack
  13. I just made a banana bread hat. I'll drone it to ya
  14. Last year Holton, Hurter and Brieske could go multiple innings and work hi leverage situations, starting with the August run. Their bullpen was a true strength.
  15. They did just bring up Melton. He is a starter being used in the pen now, but I suspect he'll be in the rotation at some point. Hamm is struggling more this season. Madden is still out. Harris may go back to drafting pitchers higher. Who knows. There are no top 100 arms after Melton.
  16. JV pitched well and won again. ERA down to 4.29. I wouldn't be shocked if Harris brings him in for a year.
  17. Yes, and Cleveland is only 3.5 out. Still all meaningful games
  18. Very impressive series win
  19. KC could be set for several years on the left side of their infield. Garcia and Whitt Jr were born less than 4 months apart. This year Garcia is near 5 war and Whitt Jr 6.
  20. Jack was good, there's a positive. Kahnle was too.
  21. He's definitely not hi leverage now.
  22. Whitt Jr is becoming too much like Ramirez vs Detroit
  23. According to sesame street, the current magic number is 4
  24. Finnegan's Detroit Line: 11 g, 13 1/3 innings, 0 R, 3 h, 3 bb, 18 k, 0.450 whip
