  1. He's been Zobrist-esque so far this year.
  2. My Dodgers hate has surpassed the Yankees and BoSox.
  3. Aggressive baseball! It will bite them in the behind at times, but overall a huge plus. I think it fuels the culture, the grit.
  4. I was thinking the same thing. Their pitching top to bottom is elite, and their offense is decent, even without Meadows and Vierling. Their plate discipline and base running have improved significantly since Harris took over. They are a balanced team now
  5. Totally agree. Dan and Andy are the best combo imho
  6. True, I remember going to both games of a dbl header back to back in the '70s. Better than Christmas, even when I sat by a guy who puked from too much beer
  7. So is tomorrow the Ernie Banks twin bill?
  8. AJ is the best I have seen at cultivating a culture, connecting with the players individually and collectively, and having a balance of x&o and analytics. Harris, etc al gave him what he needs to execute all of this. Sparky was also great at those aspects with the exception of having little analytics in his time. I do enjoy this team as much as I have any Tigers teams back to the '84 team. Now excuse me, I have to go take a dump.
  9. I usually judge by shoe size
  10. I can see a team like Chicago WS or Colorado claiming him.
  11. Yeah, can see that Rogers will still be getting plenty of time, but Dingler is fast becoming #1
  12. Wow, I just saw the box score. Too busy today to even follow it online. Can't wait to watch it this eve
  13. Norris' stiff leg landing looked unorthodox and stressful. Morris commented on it often. And Fulmer's delivery looked like it was straining. I recall his rookie year Rosenthal commented that he is an injury waiting to happen. I said "eff you" out loud to the TV, but he was correct. Boyd has had the best career of the pitchers Detroit brought in
  14. With Skubal I'd see it more like 11/400, starting a year before he hits FA. Takes him to age 39. Huge risk. Don't see Harris going there.
  15. Chase Lee called up to the big show https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2025/04/tigers-promote-chase-lee-for-mlb-debut.html
  16. That's Cleveland. They've been doing what Harris has built in Detroit for many years. Their development just keeps coming
  17. With all that Detroit has coming up, I would think at this point they are a desired destination if money is market rate. That said, Boros will convince Skubal to wait, unless an offer starts with a 4.
  18. I enjoy this team over the 2012-14 teams. A more enjoyable brand of baseball.
  19. Weaver is probably my favorite non-Tigers manager. There are some great YouTube clips of him in action
  20. Kreidler optioned to Toledo, it's Jung time again!
  21. This guy scored one heckuva baseball card collection from 1952-1956 https://www.sportscollectorsdaily.com/fabulous-50s-find-rhode-island-dealer-buys-stunning-lot-of-1950s-topps-cards/
  22. Chipper Jones recently said he would hit .200 in today's game. I'm sure he would have adjusted and performed better than that, but it emphasizes how much better pitching has become. When Chipper was drafted 1-1 the Tigers held the 2nd pick and took Tony Clark. They were so close to getting Chipper
  23. Thinking about Matt Manning brought up a random memory of Pat Underwood's impressive start to his career in 1979. His first start was televised - went 8.1 innings, 0 runs, 3 hits, 1 bb. I remember it well, and being so excited thinking he could be the ace that takes over for Fidrych. Won his first 5 decisions. Ended 1979 6-4. Over the next 4 years he went 7-14 to finish his career 13-18 and was out of MLB at age 26. I believe he had arm injuries. Also brought up thoughts of Steve Searcy, Justin Thompson, Eric King, Jeff Robinson, Joel Zuzana........Amadeus, gumby and pokey, kc and the sunshine band.....had a client no-show and my mind drifts......
