  1. Maybe Chafin? I know he's lefty, but Maeda can't even be trusted in mop up
  2. I won't be surprised at all if he gets released tonight
  3. Very wild game at Wrigley. AZ scored 10 in the 8th. The Cubs scored 5 in the 7th and 6 in the 8th and won 13-11. Wonder how many teams have lost a game where they scored 10 runs in an inning? https://www.espn.com/mlb/game/_/gameId/401695202/diamondbacks-cubs
  4. Michael Fulmer dfa'd by Boston. https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/f/fulmemi01.shtml?utm_medium=linker&utm_source=www.mlbtraderumors.com&utm_campaign=2025-04-18_br
  5. I've been following updates. We'll see how he does in the upper minors. So far he looks good at WM. I love stories like this. Guys like Neikro, Wakefield, RA Dickey, etc didn't have the right stuff without the knuckler, then bloomed late when they learned the knuckleball. Maybe Kenny will have a similar path. Doesn't hurt to try
  6. I've never liked the zone box on tv.
  7. Want a t206 Honus Wagner card? It'll cost ya. This one actually looks legit to me and will be authenticated with any sale. In 1974 one sold for $1500 and it made the cover of "the sports hobbyist." Bet that person wishes he'd hung on to it https://www.ebay.com/itm/226415458469?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=H_ctcXfiRAC&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=kqHvYtTeTyS&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
  8. He is a solely a mop up guy for games like yesterday. I won't be surprised at all if he gets cut at some point during the season. He showed glimpses in spring training. Hard to keep Foley in Toledo if he can help the Tigers now
  9. The older pitcher turned knuckleballer that the Tigers signed over the winter, Kenny Serwa is off to a nice start. Long odds, but who knows. He is 27 and with the Whitecaps. 2 games - 1 start, 6 inn, 1 hit, 1bb, 9k 0 runs https://www.baseball-reference.com/register/player.fcgi?id=serwa-000ken
  10. How do you know? The reference was to Max Clark’s RBI pace
  11. Braves release Buck Farmer. Might be the end of the show for him. He was serviceable for the Tigers during their aaaa run https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/f/farmebu01.shtml?utm_medium=linker&utm_source=www.mlbtraderumors.com&utm_campaign=2025-04-15_br
  12. McLain/Lolich/Wilson Lolich/Coleman/Fryman Morris/Petry/Wilcox Morris/Petry/Alexander/Tanana Verlander/Scherzer/Sanchez/Porcello/ Fister Skubal/Flaherty/Olson/Jobe/Mize I know I am forgetting several. Of these rotations I think the current squad has potential to equal any of them. But a lot can happen, so fingers crossed
  13. I have been to Milwaukee several times. It's a 5 hour drive from Minmeapolis but someday I'll catch a game there.
  14. Foley so far at Toledo: 5 games, 6.2 ip, 1 hit, 0 bb, 0 runs, 0.150 whip.
  15. Also the 1990 Hoops basketball card of Mark Jackson (#205?) Has both Menendez brothers very visible sitting courtside. A popular one from childhood - the 1969 Topps card of Aurelio Rodriguez is actually a pic of the team bat boy
  16. Lol, I have the infamous "FF" billy ripken card
  17. Carson Kelly is having a Chris Shelton like start to the season https://www.mlb.com/player/carson-kelly-608348
  18. That's a good idea, thanks
  19. How many huge, long-term deals turn on well? Small %. I'm fine if Det never goes that route again, although I'd like to see them retain their own stars
  20. For years there has talk of the Twins selling. I don't believe anything is close. Minneapolis is much more of a Vikings city. Twins fans are more bandwagon
  21. I think I like the composition of this team better than I did the '06-'14 run. The current team is more balanced overall. And the last half of that older run, I always felt there would come a time when the contracts (vmart, miggy, etc) would become albatross-esque and there would need to be a rebuild. Harris really does seem to have the franchise on a more sustainable positive path
  22. Thanks, wasn't aware of that
  23. This year I paid the extra $50 to have the Twins game live and not blacked out. Paid $199 instead of $149
  24. I think Cleveland will be close. Their system is what I think Harris wants Detroit's to become. And KC is good too.
