Yes, this is true, and I was assuming broadcast networks. The recent show closest to the All in the Family aesthetic I can think of I think of is the Carmichael Show, which ran on NBC for a couple years in the mid-2010s. I agree—Jim Leyland and Dusty Baker would never share any negative impressions of Justin Verlander with us. I would have been OK with signing him for 1/15, and I said so prior to his going to the Giants. If Harris thought he was a good fit and Verlander thought this the Tigers were a good fit, he probably would have, and i would have liked that. But he didn’t sign with us, for whatever reason, and I don’t rue that even a little.
