Almost certainly not, but honestly, I hope so. I want to see players or teams caught throwing plays or games for gambling interests. How else do we have any chance to get this scourge out of the game, short of a player or his family being murdered by a disgruntled degenerate?

He’s an only child, so that’s probably part of it. -
But can he romance a prop bet line?

I’m thinking about using the major AI bots to plan out a Route 66 driving trip for us. I want to hew as closely to the original road as I can possibly get. I’ve looked at a couple Route 66 websites and they are surprisingly incomplete when it comes to route planning.

Teams basically need three good starters to get through the playoffs, right? Given all the off days then, I think most teams going deep spread the vast majority of their starts among their top three. Our top two are Skubal and Flaherty. Yeah, Flaherty is not particularly good lately, or even this whole year, but unless he has an abject collapse, he’s pitching Game 2 of the ALDS. So, after Skubal and Flaherty, it comes down to Olson and Mize to fill the #3 and spot starter roles, depending on how each do in September. Only if one of them gets hurt or falls off a cliff after August 1 will we be in serious trouble in the rotation. So, unless either Olson or Mize come up lame at the end of this month, we’re not trading for starting pitching, either.

The Tigers are not trading for Ke’Bryan Hayes, Alex Bregman, or any other third baseman. We are #10 in the majors in WAR at third base. If we’re trading for a position player at all, it’s a shortstop, and with Javy having his resurgence, getting most of the starts at shortstop now and coming off his best month of the season so far, we’re not trading for a shortstop, either. We are set for position players. We are obviously going after shutdown relief help, and whether we go for a starter is going to depend in large part how Reese Olson is doing in three or so weeks. He’s back in the next week and should have three starts before we have to start thinking about burning up the phone lines for a starter. If he’s back and strong, we probably won’t feel the need to trade for starting pitching.

We do come out a little ahead although nothing like this. I don’t want to come out ahead in that way. I would give it all back to at least go back to how it was.

****ing dunce with a finger on the trigger. Bad combo.

That’s it? A little swag? That’s all it took? No riches, no money, no payoffs of any actual value? I think this helps confirm the theory that a lot of these running dogs really are true believers.

Except eventually whiteness alone is not going to save anyone.

The other thing is that red hats are going to get all indignant when people express disapproval of this by saying, “Well, duhhhh, it’s a ****ing prison! ****ing libtard scumbag, what the **** else did you think was gonna happen? No wonder you ****ers lost.”
-
Red hats will soil themselves laughing when they hear this. They think **** like this is hilarious. This is exactly what they voted for.

They’re going to put these concentration camps all over the country, not just the Everglades. And each one is going to be worse than the one that came before it. Pretty soon most of America is going to know exactly where these camps are and they’re going to just become part of the background. And some of your friends and neighbors—or at least the people who live in the modest income section of town—are going to staff it, get paid really good money, and love what they do, ‘cos they’ll be making America great again.
-
Well, where do people think these congresspeople come from? They don't fall out of the sky. They don't pass through a membrane from another reality. They come from American parents and American families, American homes, American schools, American churches, American businesses and American universities, and they are elected by American citizens. This is the best we can do, folks. This is what we have to offer. It's what our system produces: Garbage in, garbage out. If you have selfish, ignorant citizens, you're going to get selfish, ignorant leaders, and term limits ain't going to do any good—you're just going to end up with a brand new bunch of selfish, ignorant Americans. h/t George

I agree a lot of them don’t, but I honestly think a lot more of those R-brand Congresscritters are true believers in his magic than we might imagine. Maybe a third of them or even more.

A big part of his problem is his control is back down to what it was before last year, he’s throwing strikes to try to make up for it, and he’s getting hit. Plus his curveball was crazy good last year and he was never gonna keep that up. -

Yeah, he’s off yet again. He must be our #2, ‘cos that’s what he’s pitching like. -
Republicans stick with Trump because he is the one and only power source. There is nothing like that on the Democratic side.
-
Chaffetz is playing Racist Trope Bingo. Although he kind of botched it a little when he said “root beer” instead of “grape soda”.
-
Trump has made the various policies he’s for at any given time synonymous with being pro-Trump. He’s shifted the entire political conversation to focus on him. Being anti-Trump is a valid response, because his is the face of all the terrible things he’s doing. For better or worse, the Democrats’ best shot is to highlight how terrible his policies are, how they are hurting ordinary people, and how they would be different, and point to successes by Biden and Obama. They can’t just pretend Trump isn’t happening and talk only about positive Democratic policies. That ostrich **** won’t work. They have to tackle him head-on. There’s no other way. As things stand, people don’t yet know how bad they’re about to get ****ed because they’re not paying that kind of attention, so at the moment, anything the Democrats say is going to be sour apples. The policies have to take effect and they have to prove to be bad for rank-and-file red hats. There’s no other way I can see it working for Democrats. And the way the Trump people can overcome that is to make sure they give special privileges that rank-and-file red hats want while punishing blue cities and states and their uppity snooty voters. If that happens, then it’s practically game over for D, and that’s even before the institutional election fraud kicks in. It’s a pickle, all right.
