Somewhat related to this, I really hate when a construction project starts and then sits idle for months. There’s one nearby for which they are rehabbing an ice cream place that was supposed to reopen by now, but instead they fenced it off and did about half the gutting job this past fall, and since then it’s been just sitting idle all through winter and now halfway into spring. The building has since been tagged to Kingdom Come since the project appears like it’s been abandoned. It makes the neighborhood look totally sketch.

I don’t know if it can be said that Colt Keith has turned a corner, but coming into today’s game, he was slashing .261/.393/.652 with three bombs in the last 14 days. Add another bomb for today.

To give you an idea of how bad the Rox offense is, they are 28th in MLB in OPS and 29th in runs per game, and they play half their games in an historically inflated run environment. But, also, they have played nine of their 19 road games so far in three of the top seven run-inflated ballparks this season (Rays, Phillies, and, believe it or not, Dodgers), plus four more at a run-neutral ballpark in SF. Only in Kansas City and San Diego have they played in the kind of depressed run environments they can point to and say, yeah, that's a big reason right there we haven't been scoring runs this season.
