  1. They don’t want you to have the money. They want that money. They first have to get you used to the idea that Social Security will not be there for you when you need it. That will make this job much easier for them. I think people are inadvertently misleading themselves (and others) when they term all the bad stuff happening to the government because of Musk as “mistakes” and/or that the Muskovites are “stupid”. Characterizing this in that way simply lets those people off the hook by portraying them as honest actors trying to work on behalf of the American people and that things are merely not going as well as planned. Let’s be crystal on this: they are not stupid, and they are not making mistakes. More to this particular point, they are not making mistakes with Social Security, and they are not doing all this because they are stupid.
  2. I won’t hold growing up in a Reagan Republican household against her, but I am a little skeptical of the whole TikTok influencer background, which means she seeks to attract extreme attention first and foremost, and her very young age, which means she just barely solidified her prefrontal cortex. She may still be bouncing around various ideologies to see what fits best, and she might be trying out different approaches to see what gets her the most engagement. I wouldn’t vote for her just because she’s a D who’s easy on the eyes.
  3. The flip side is that he is so weak-minded, he will sign onto whatever the last person who talked to him tells him to do.
  4. This is exactly what you would expect from people who value bluster and hubris over knowledge and experience.
  5. So wait a minute here ... How is it that a decision was made to add Jeffrey Goldberg, editor-in-chief of the (presumably) enemy-of-the-state publication The Atlantic, was added to a Signal chat involving top war-planning personnel in the first place? How exactly does that pass any smell test?
  6. Except Spiro Agnew was born half a century too early.
  7. Sure there is: a low level of incompetence. They won’t stand for that. Because remember: education, experience, and knowledge are suspect.
  8. already in progress
  9. They don't give a s***. Their whole mission is to disrupt the world and strip it for parts.
  10. TBF, Trump was a monster long before this. Now he's a ****ing Frankenstein.
  11. The Gulf of Mexico was renamed because Trump wanted to troll the entire world.
  12. Because since God is all perfect and all knowing and all wise, there is a reason he does things even if we don;t understand, so we have to trust in Him and everything will turn out according to the Divine Plan. I'm sorry, did I say "God"? I meant Trump.
  13. He definitely showed us that one first time around, too.
  14. Yeah, “at least four weeks” probably doesn’t mean four weeks on the button. May if we’re lucky. Don’t want to contemplate what if we’re not.
  15. I'm sure the phrase "championship season" goes way back to the beginning, but I started hearing the phrase in the wild more in the last six or eight years.
  16. Hinch needs guys who play all over the place because we are still working on getting established starters everywhere.
  17. The surprise Tigers featuring AL Cy Young Skubal versus the World Champs featuring Blake Snell’s first Dodger start? Yeah, I think so.
  18. I really do think it’s the result of a thorough brainwashing by that whole right wing/pro-Kremlin media system. We can all think of examples of people we’ve known through the years who were always conservative but who have completely gone over the moon for Trump. What that suggests to me is that their conservatism was entirely personality-driven, and not at all ideological.
  19. A show election can accomplish the same result.
  20. Based on sarcasm.
  21. I had thought the same thing on a simplified basis, although as I think more about it, I gotta wonder how much down-ballot success is due to extreme gerrymandering than it is to their general message ex-top of ticket. The Dems did pick up three seats, but those were vacancies. The Republicans did not lose a single contestable House seat out of the 220 they held, and they actually picked up a couple Senate seats. So I'm not sure how much comfort I can take from the down-ballot argument anymore.
  22. The whole Latin Mass kerfuffle is especially inexplicable, since basically every Catholic under 70 has never known anything but local language Mass, and I'm pretty sure those geriatrics aren't not banding together and leading the charge against everyone else.
