  1. So, I had joined Bluesky on an invite last year, tried it out for a few days, saw it wasn't really getting much traction, and bailed, just like most people. This time feels different. I went to recreat my news/politics feed from Twitter and went to my Following list there to try to follow those same accounts at bsky. I would say that roughly two-thirds of them are not yet there as of this minute, including some real major Twitter players. Of the one-third that are at bsky, I see several of them posted a lot in the June to July 2023 timeframe, then not at all until anywhere from a month ago to a few hours ago. So it seems like people are rediscovering bsky, and I would bet there will be a huge surge in users and usage every day for the next few weeks, and the Bluesky Surge will become an actual news story at some point before the holidays really get revved up. Too bad I can't invest a few bucks in them right now. 😁
  2. Wish I wasn't out of reaction, so, laugh!
  3. What, no Baseball Crank??
  4. I think the bigger question is why the Democrats super-cheated to win the 2020 election but didn't bother to cheat even a little to win this one. 😜
  5. Well, it's not like he's the only one ... 🦆🦆🦆 I do think it will take some weeks to sift through the volume of data.
  6. I don't know that it's a question of style as much as it's a question of timing. Is this the right time to spend $30 million on a player? Are we at the point where the roster as currently constructed can be expected to get into the playoffs, and a $30 million guy is what we need to go deep into October?
  7. I'm a little fuzzy on what "preferred" timeline means?
  8. How do we know Tork has above average work ethic? I'm not saying he doesn't, but I have not seen anything to indicate that he has above average work ethic.
  9. I bet the Rays are kicking themselves for not trading Wander Franco to Al Avila's Tigers in exchange for Jackson Jobe.
  10. I don't see how they could ever get away with a 25th Amendment on Trump, because the red hats voted for Trump the man, not Vance or Republicans in general or policies. They want to be entertained, not governed. The only possible way I can see 25A implemented is if the power of the red hat voter were to be completely denuded, so that any rebellion by them could be quickly and easily crushed. Maybe that's when the red hats would finally wake the **** up from their dizzy dream.
  11. Man, we can’t get a pass even when there’s no actual advertising to show.
  12. Oh, yeah, I forgot all about this one. lol businessmen leave their fortunes behind to go into government to help the people.
  13. As the grand exalted president, Trump has nothing to prove to us. It is we who will be required to prove ourselves to him.
  14. Oh, man, you are gonna get so doxxed for stuff like this. And I’m gonna get so doxxed for hearting it.
  15. Aw, man, and here he thought you were one of the good ones …
  16. Sounds like the perfect pick to round up immigrants like dogs.
  17. I don’t know … weren’t most of those firings and resignations due to gross competency? Who’s going to qualify on those grounds in this regime?
  18. So Marco is not deranged, is what you’re telling us?
  19. Which means Marco will do exactly what Trump, or more likely his inner circle, instruct him to do, and he will bring nothing he learned in Congress about diplomacy to bear.
  20. I am actively rooting for that, but I’m not holding my breath, because Trump looks up to Elon because of his money, which is the only thing Trump respects, and I can’t see how Trump would ever walk from the relationship. If anything, Musk threatening to end the relationship from his side will get a desperate Trump giving Musk even more than he asks for to mollify him.
  21. The real shot across the bow is how they will turn public schools into MAGA indoctrination camps, dialing back on academic schooling and leaning into performative patriotism and religiosity.
  22. They could make it a lot a lot harder to do a filibuster—i.e., make senators stand on the floor and orate a la Mr. Smith like they did in the old days.
  23. Between the protests and the Nazi flag wavers, January 20 could make Jan 6 look downright chaste, especially if they clash.
