I like this idea, but it's probably too early to punish Lange for perceived ineffectiveness. You have to give the guy high leverage opportunities at some point, and this would be a perfect time for one of those.
Get used to it, because you are going to see the exact same one numerous times each game for the rest of the season. About as often as you will see the Find-Pete-Alonso-in-the-Crowd spot.
EDIT: Oh, and also, the Great Mascot Race.
Well, Mize did pretty fair, giving up only two runs plus a baserunner in 4-1/3 innings. If we could score even an average number of runs, he might still be out there.
It's clear that the hitters are going to have to help preserve the bullpen today.
How about the sartorial criticism in the booth today? Seems like it's right in Craig Monroe's humor wheelhouse.
Shep would definitely not have engaged in that.
I don't know that I can blame Riley for that, necessarily. It's not our wall. But he does have to take the responsibility for the outcome.
Casey is starting to look just a little rattled now.
I don't want to accent-shame anyone here, not even a guy who is objectively terrible at his high-visibility job. But every time I hear Craig Monroe say "extablish", I focus on how weird it is for someone to say "extablish", and I don't even hear what might well be a very well-thought-out idea being articulated after that unfortunate rendering of the word "establish".
Case in point:

And this Troy Brewer guy, whoever the **** he is, is deadly serious.
