The revenue sharing suit is the bigger issue and directly addresses the issue of tanking.- 1,851 replies

Garbage. It was pointless grandstanding for the MAGA base in a bid to become Trump's successor.

Well, sure, MLB negotiators want the lawsuit dropped. Baseball wants nothing to do with enforcing the letter of the law stipulating that revenue sharing money be spent “in an effort to improve its performance on the field," for reasons not the least of which is that by keeping that money out of the player market, it keeps player market costs down for everyone.- 1,851 replies

I might ask you at this point to provide even one example of Florida teachers teaching sexual orientation and gender identity to 3rd grade or lower, but you're a congenital troll and nothing more, so never mind.

One bright red line is "anything that happens here in the USA". I thinking ATM networks goes down, other payment systems upended, electrical grid goes out, water treatment plants are breached and compromised. Of course there will be the inevitable claim of false flag, but we can't let that paralyze us at the moment of truth.

As much of a dilemma as there is regarding the no-fly zone, with no good clear option either way, remember that Russia's best interests are being served by our rejecting a no-fly zone, so really, no holy crap surprise there.

The entire effort of the state of Florida is itself marginalizing gay people. Even if it doesn’t change a thing on the ground by outlawing something that’s not even happening anyway, the Florida right wingers in charge are sending a very clear message: we don’t want anything to do with you, gay people. We don’t wanna know about you.

If true, then holy shit. From the article: Remember how the MLBPA was expecting a full counterproposal to its Wednesday afternoon proposal? MLB came back, instead, with three options for how to table the draft conversation. They indicated that they would not talk about anything else until the MLBPA agreed to one of the three options. All those things that were close and could have been hammered out suddenly went out the window. The MLBPA came back with its own option. Manfred and his owners didn’t respond to that option. Instead, they canceled more games. No, really, that’s how it all went down, according to multiple reports. And that’s the stupidest thing of this whole stupid lockout. Seven more days and 93 more games were canceled because the MLB owners and MLB players could not agree on how to table an issue that both wanted to table. It boggles the mind. MLB could have just said, “You know what? We’re so close and we want baseball to start again, so let’s agree on everything else and we’ll take up this discussion when we’ve both have time to focus solely on this very complicated issue.” But that’s not what happened. The owners added strings. They refused to consider input from the other side. They told the players, “It’s one of our options or nothing.” And then, they canceled games. Again, because they couldn’t agree with the MLBPA on how to table the issue. I keep thinking that if I type that sentence over and over, it’ll make sense. They couldn’t agree on how to table an issue, so the owners canceled seven more days and 93 more games. Yep, this really is the stupidest moment of this whole stupid lockout, and I’m not sure there’s a close second.- 1,851 replies

I say that for its comic value. Whatever I do in the market, you should do the opposite.

Interesting how you established "better for the owners" and "better for the overall good of the game" as being opposites.- 1,851 replies

After hearing about the details of the MLB pitch clock proposal being 14 and 19 seconds, which pitchers definitely don't want, I was wondering whether MLB was leaking that as something to give away at the end to get the players to agree to lower than midpoint on CBT to seal the deal.- 1,851 replies
