The Marlins are a team that has won two world championship since 1993. Other than that, they’ve been a nightmare. That’s two more world championships than we have experienced, but I wouldn’t want to get them this way.

I’m not worried about the White Sox. That’s the Tiger’s job. I know that Hinch will not allow these guys to be overconfident. Each game will be planned for and played as if the future of all human history hinged upon it. Nothing is for certain and this team will not take anything for granted or expect it to be given to them.

I turned on the Marlins Twins game and initially it was on the Twins feed and their announcers, bless their soul, were so excited because they had a runner on first with no outs. HA! It didn’t matter.

I hope these really bad umpires aren’t promoted to the postseason. I don’t know if they do it on the basis of seniority or what, but having postseason games decided by an umpire who calls a ball 1 foot out of the strike zone a strike is just intolerable.
