  1. No, Grandma said to never listen to the devil because he might start making sense. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ But seriously, I only follow the audio feed of the team I want to win. And the Twins and the Reds finally just began.
  2. Sans tonight‘s game to get my fix I am figuratively reduced — in old people’s speak — to “stems and seeds.” I was going to watch the Reds beat the Twins because I have a rooting interest and it’s raining in Cincinnati. And in Chicago, and in Washington DC. So I am stuck watching the Angels beat the Yankees and they’re just hoping they can get the game in there in the Bronx before it begins to rain around 8pm. And the Angels are leading 1-0. This is my definition of desperation.
  3. I wonder if neither team wanted Skubal and Skenes to face each other. It would seem to increase each team‘s ability to get a split in the doubleheader.
  4. Just saw this on the FREEP through Apple news. I’m going to have to get my dopamine fix somewhere else tonight.
  5. Play 4.5 innings have a <cough cough> 6-0 lead and pull the plug.
  6. Just don’t call me late for dinner.
  7. As if we need a reminder about how stupid Google AI is, it just told me that the Tigers drafted Casey Mize out of high school in 2018. It couldn’t distinguish between having the first pick overall and the first pick the Tigers had regardless of where their pick occured, but I knew if I gave parameters too specific it would most likely get confused and give me nothing at all. Yet it still discovered a way to be confused. AI Overview The Detroit Tigers have drafted high school players with their first overall pick twice in the modern draft era: in 1997 and 2018. They selected pitcher Matt Anderson first overall in 1997 and pitcher Casey Mize in 2018. While the Tigers have drafted many high school players overall, these are the only two instances where a high school player was chosen with the very first pick
  8. Did he actually no longer want to be referred to as Nick but instead as Nicholas? Because if this was his wish not a single news article about him referred to him as Nicholas and neither did his manager when he talked about him. I know people’s names are important so I’m not going to diss him for this. My actual name is Sir Bertrand John Jacob Jingleheimer-Schmidt XIV and I try not to make a big deal about it but it does bother me when I’m not shown the proper respect I think I deserve. On school trips as a kid it made name tags very problematic.
  9. I don’t remember anything about the flagpole. I just remember seeing an outfielder stand at the 440 mark and catch a Demeter drive to center. I can’t even remember who the Tigers played, I was just happy to be there.
  10. The Mets have lost four games in a row, The Yankees have lost five games in a row. The Nationals have lost 10 games in a row. In the AL Central, Cleveland, Minnesota and Kansas City are a collective 6–24 although it looks like Cleveland could beat the Giants tonight. And the Tigers, going through one of the roughest spots in the year so far, are 6–4 in their last 10.
  11. So the first game I saw was a kid at Tiger Stadium Don Demeter hit a 425 foot out instead of a 440 foot out.
  12. I sure hope they can get tomorrow night’s game in. Right now there’s a 2-hour window where it’s not supposed to be raining but that sure looks iffy.
  13. It’s just a joy to care about him and to celebrate him instead of being resentful that he’s taking up space and getting paid for it.
  14. Twins and the Royals are winning right now Guardians haven’t started yet.
  15. Ouch. It hurts to watch that ball go off Javy’s leg.
  16. Nice 1-2-3 by Tommy.
  17. Nice inning for Chase.
