Cyclists go commando and all they’ve got is a thin sheen of Lycra covering them so when they hit the tarmac their rears hang out and there’s just no way around it. And they’ll ride for another hundred miles like that.

I can’t see that their underwear is showing through so I’m assuming they’re going commando.

I’m 72 years old and you guys are going on like you’re older and more crotchety than me. I like the uniforms they look like something out of Tron. Every moment I’m expecting the sky to light up with circuitry glowing.

These uniforms look much better when the players are wearing dark shoes. With white shoes, they look like they’re wearing fuzzy slippers that girls wear to sleepovers. Not that there’s anything wrong with that…per se… <ducks>

I just made up the veritable thing, but he said something similar.

In the early 1960s when I first became a fan — and even in the later ‘60s when batting averages fell — it was still unusual for a team to carry four guys in the starting lineup with a sub-.200 or slightly above batting average. you can’t have **** Tracewski (apparently you can’t use the short familiar word for Richard on our site), Don Wert, Ed Brinkman plus some other no-name guy all in the batting order failing on a daily basis but we do. At least these aforementioned guys made some defensive contributions, but being able to play a position should be a given, not cause for celebration. And although you have to adjust for inflation and what not, it’s still maddening that Tork signed for more money than Al Kaline ever made in his life.

I don’t have the TV package to see what these uniforms really look like on the field, but from this photo it looks like something out of Tron. It looks kind of cool, but it doesn’t look baseballish.
