  1. In doubt never or something to that effect
  2. If TB can score 9 runs in the bottom of the ninth to win then God bless them.
  3. Wow, when it rains, it pours both literally and figuratively eight runs cool.
  4. When is the funeral for Casey Mize scheduled?
  5. Wenceel Pérez homers 3-1.
  6. ♬ Hello darkness my old friend, I’ve come to talk with you again♬
  7. Can’t expect Riley to carry this club on his shoulders alone.
  8. note to self> don’t rely on the fielding to save you today Casey.
  9. note to self> stop hitting weak grounders or lining the ball sharply to an infielder or outfielder.
  10. Dillon Dingler singles on a line drive to right fielder Josh Lowe. Riley Greene scores.
  11. The Rays must be scratching their heads going “where’s our four run first inning?”
  12. I can’t see Harris literally selling the farm for any pitcher when their health is so volatile these days. His philosophy is not “win once now and damn the future consequences.” His whole thing is about building a sustainable organization from top to bottom. You don’t do that by decimating the foundation.
  13. Listening to yesterday‘s game in the car Dan Dickerson related briefly the story about Willie Horton making his way his way to the Pirates clubhouse to congratulate Don Kelly. The Tigers great paying his respects to a beloved role player. Both men of the cloth. As much as these baseball clubs follow the fault lines of soulless corporate entities like any other, the Tigers still maintain this affecting human dimension among the men who are part of the lineage of the team. I suppose all teams do this, but the Tigers are the only team I follow closely and when I sense this knit of identity between former players or hear about, it brings me joy. As remote as I am from all of it, I somehow feel included.
  14. I’m glad this game was not the fulcrum on which my day rested, as it often is, but it still still sucks.
  15. On the plus side, the team ERA did not take a beating.
  16. OMG! After my morning walk, I was driving home and I listened to the Tigers top of the first and then started listening to John Mulaney and just now got home and we’re already down by four runs? This is déjà vu all over again.
  17. Did Jack Flaherty talk to the media after the game?
  18. I bet these guys smell really bad, I mean worse than usual.
  19. Normally eight runs would be enough to win a game.
  20. I miss pissing and moaning about how crappy Tropicana Field is. And Keith with a two run homer.
  21. Let me guess, Riley Greene is the player of the game.
  22. Outplayed and BABIP’d to death tonight.
  23. This is all sort of unpleasant.
