I find myself turning the audio off on the game on the TV and I have some kind of recollection that MLB TV used to give you the option of just listening to crowd noise in the background and not listening to broadcasters, but I might be hallucinating this memory.

It feels like bringing Beau in is sort of like playing Russian roulette with a gun with only two chambers, but maybe he’s settling down.

Nido is doing a good job of tricking this ump on low pitches out of the zone.

I’m starting to get a bad feeling about this game. I think it will take more than one run to win this game. I hope I’m wrong.

Reese has only 71 pitches after five innings so they should be able to get a couple more innings out of him if he doesn’t melt down or anything. Sure could use some run support.

Even though it’s only the fourth inning, I’m unhappy with the number of runs thus far scored by the Tigers.

Oh boy! Javy and Zach and Tork are a part of today’s “parlay!” I swear Hunter Thompson almost nailed it when he said Las Vegas is what all of America would be if the Germany had won World War II. Instead, we did it to ourselves with a constant celebration of easy money as the greatest conceivable good. The Corleone family went legit.

I don’t know how fleet of foot Santander is but at 6 foot and 230 pounds and 30 years of age he doesn’t sound like the kind of guy the Tigers would want in their lineup for five years. Maybe he’s flashy in the field - I don’t know well enough to say whether he is or not - but on the surface he doesn’t seem to illustrate now or in the future the sort of lineup flexibility we’re looking for.

The Tigers have the second best road record of any team in MLB with 13–10, bettered only by the Cubs at 13–9. Being even steven on the road is a big deal. Only 11 teams in MLB have even a .500 or above road record. And four of those understandably are in the NL West. The strange outlier in the AL is the Athletics who are vastly superior on the road than at home but as far as I’m concerned for them too bad not so sad. Of course I have nothing against the players, but only spite for the ownership.
