  1. Can’t quite believe Olson got out of that bases loaded situation, but he did.
  2. Yea Riley!
  3. Tork 2-run double
  4. 2 batters faced both make it on….
  5. So since they’ve only scored one run in the last 22 innings have they “saved up some runs” over the last 22 innings in their metaphysical bank of runs which they often squander in high scoring games? Or if you want to get more scientific about it, could they “return to the mean” of scoring a sensible number of runs and hopefully allow fewer than they score?
  6. I’m mostly worried about Riley, but I think he will self correct. I remember during the reign of Dave Dombrowski how we had a plethora of great hitters in the lineup and they would all go inexplicably blank for several games in a row. This stuff just happens and the scales will swing the other way before long.
  7. Hey pal, we’re not Baastun. 😉
  8. It wasn’t a bad idea. It was as Deadpool says “a calculated wish.” It was based on a need of having to give the rest of the staff an extra day off and he had performed well in AAA, but the gap between major league and AAA got the better of him today. Keeping him around for a while might also help keep them from wearing out Jobe.
  9. He’s good enough, he’s smart enough, and gosh darn it, people like him.
  10. When we score 6 runs in the top of the ninth, we’re going to be talking about this for years.
  11. Tork fighting back against these NL Deathstar Teams.
  12. Montero Ks the side in the 1st
  13. Now we don’t have to fret over a no-hitter - X2
  14. Well, on the positive side in that AB Riley didn’t strike out and he swung at the first pitch because it was in the strike zone and something he could’ve pulled, unfortunately he grounded out but I’m saying this because I’m a glass half full guy and hopeful.
  15. The Nick Offerman episode is based on a tiny fragment inferred from a note as I recall from when I watched my son play the game years ago, and that episode expanded upon it. They fleshed it out brilliantly. The use of the Linda Ronstadt song gives me chills, and it’s kind of personal. I spent my early 20s to mid 30s in Tucson and Linda had grown up there with her family owning the major hardware store downtown and everybody in the city was in love with her. We all have memories of attending things like wakes for friends that had passed and her recorded music was played at them and it was usually particular relevant to the friend that had walked out of life, often tragically, far too soon. When you go to a wake for a friend and you’re in your 20s your friend died in their 20s and it’s a really sad thing. Really bittersweet memories. Everyone who lived in Tucson back then has a special Linda Ronstadt memory. She was America’s sweetheart.
  16. I don’t think it’s fair to say that Hanifee took the Tigers out of the game. They were being no hit. They scored no runs. He wasn’t great, but he didn’t lose the game for them. I can see sending him down, but not because he “took them out of the game.”
  17. You used to have to go to a member of the Corleone crew to place a bet but it’s a lot easier now. The Corleone family has gone legit.
  18. Maybe the guys had too much beer and cheese. It is Milwaukee after all. Before the game began I was watching the 1950 noir classic Sunset Boulevard so maybe I’ll pick up where I left off. It won three Oscars. Probably better than what’s going on in Milwaukee.
  19. The fifth episode is so fast paced I almost got dizzy.
  20. I took 33 minutes out to watch the newest episode of The Studio on Apple TV and all I missed is that we’re not being no hit anymore. I was just hoping for more.
  21. The Brewers pitcher may be a household name for other people, but to me he’s no name and he’s no hitting us, which is not pleasant.
  22. I haven’t watched local commercial television in years, so I’m not exposed to ads there. I don’t listen to commercial radio. Athough I see billboards where I live they’re not all personal injury billboards although they’re there. It’s just their ubiquity on these baseball broadcasts that’s like being slapped in the face by a rotten fish.
  23. I have a feeling this is going to be “one of those games.“ It’s early in the game, but so far our at bats are lackluster and their’s are not.
