  1. The oligarchy can do anything to anyone it wants.
  2. Maybe this club is starting to gel again. Although I didn’t follow this game too closely, it sanded off a lot of the rough edges of this latter portion of the schedule for me. The Tigers took advantage of the unpredictable serendipities of this game with relish and felt like the club they were earlier in the year. Paddack was superb. He rose to the occasion. Casey was great. Finnegan will return. All good things to those who wait. The magic carpet is ascending.
  3. Daniella is a munchkin next to Parker.
  4. Paddack two clean innings in a row.
  5. Dan just referred to the Yankees as the Mets.
  6. I was in school that day. But I went to the fifth game in Detroit, which made up for every deficit in my life.
  7. 1-2-3 for Paddack
  8. Stanton somehow strikes out.
  9. I don’t think I’ve witnessed a nine run inning in a long time. Maybe never.
  10. Wenceel Pérez grounds into a force out, fielded by second baseman Jazz Chisholm Jr. Kerry Carpenter scores. Spencer Torkelson out at 2nd. Wenceel Pérez to 1st.
  11. Kerry Carpenter triples (5) on a sharp line drive to left fielder Cody Bellinger. Colt Keith scores. Gleyber Torres scores.
  12. The only thing that makes me feel bad about this is that I love our friend Sue.
  13. Wild pitch by pitcher Mark Leiter Jr. Trey Sweeney scores. Colt Keith to 3rd. Gleyber Torres to 2nd.
  14. Gleyber Torres walks. Dillon Dingler scores. Trey Sweeney to 3rd. Colt Keith to 2nd.
  15. Colt Keith hit by pitch. Parker Meadows scores. Dillon Dingler to 3rd. Trey Sweeney to 2nd
  16. Trey Sweeney singles on a fly ball to left fielder Cody Bellinger, deflected by shortstop Anthony Volpe. Wenceel Pérez scores. Parker Meadows to 3rd. Dillon Dingler to 2nd.
  17. This is not fair. They pull a guy who walks three and allows a single and a double? Brad Ausmus would leave him in.
  18. Dillon Dingler walks. Spencer Torkelson scores. Wenceel Pérez to 3rd. Parker Meadows to 2nd.
  19. Riley Greene hits a ground-rule double (30) on a line drive to right field.
