The Canadian coaching staff should be as embarrassed as the refs. Surely someone on the bench should have been paying attention. There were actually 8 skaters plus the goalie on as the puck was going into the Canadian zone, and 6 of the skaters celebrated the goal in a group hug. Hiding in plain sight!

I thought USA played a fantastic defensive game.  There were times in the 3rd period where Sweden was unable to get anything to the net despite sustained pressure.   

I now understand where having Miller and Trocheck on the team makes sense.  Both we pivotal in the defensive game.  Having Trocheck out to win the draw in OT and then immediately jumping off for a skill player was a nice touch too.     They both proved more valuable than an extra skill guy like Keller.

From all accounts Larkin is a very personable guy and most players seem to enjoy being around him.  Maybe that'll help draw in a free agent or something some day.

Already did. Ben Chiarot is like 6'4.

The US Women's hockey team wins the gold medal. They pulled their goalie to tie it at 1-1 with about 2 minutes left in regulation and won it in OT. 3 on 3 OT hockey is exciting!!

Was in a presentation for a few hours so didnt get to watch any of the women's game as it happens. Knew it was 0-0 after 1, 1-0 Canada with 13 minutes to go, then that it was headed into OT. Have watched the highlights. Sounds like quite a game.

I tip my cap to him. I was down on him last season when he seemed to pout at the trade deadline, but he took it like a man when Stevie Y and Todd held him accountable in their season ending presser last year. I'm sure they were even more direct with him in private. A lesser man may have gone into a shell after that, or may even have tried to undermine the people who held him accountable. Larkin bought in to it and the team did too. Now they are flourishing and his Team USA teammates are praising Larkin as the leader he has become. He has earned the C, no question.

No surprise that Crosby isn't playing. Maybe Coop just wanted to keep the Finns guessing until the last minute.

Finland scores 2 seconds init a powerplay to take 1-0 lead late in 1st. Maybe Team Canada isn’t greatest offense ever assembled after all

Shorthanded goal while I was in the shower makes it 2-0 Finland.

Team Canada is really doing nothing. Finland is playing responsible defense and a textbook perfect game in front of a partisan Canadian crowd.

I think the 26-12 shots total in misleading.  Canada isn’t getting a lot of great chances.

It is a huge bummer Crosby got hurt, I'm not even rooting for Canada and I wish he was out there.
