I remember watching the games from Montreal in the 60's on the tube as very young but avid Wings fan -  that ice surface at the old Forum was something else. It looked huge and the corners seems to recede back to forever. I've nosed around on google for the dimensions of the old Forum to see if it was maybe an olympic sized rink, but have never run it down.

Yep, was just about to post it has been the very opposite of the 2nd. Wings hanging on.

I'd like to see him play without the trapezoid. Which is about the dumbest rule in hockey IMO. Why the he** should a team be penalized because their goalie can play hockey?

[Motor City Sonics]

Both of Larkin's goals show sometimes you just need to shoot it and those weird angles can either cause odd bounces or other chaos.  I love it.   This team's two worst games this year were vs. Montreal and they answered them last night.  I like this team and I don't think it's crazy to talk about playoffs.       Yzerman's scouting skills are so superior to Holland's.   He's really a great GM.
