The only thing more disappointing than the US performance is the behavior from the US crowd. Appalling behavior with the heckling. This isn't baseball, this is golf. The American fans treatment of the Europeans has been disgraceful. 1 Quote
Deleterious Posted September 28, 2025 Posted September 28, 2025 Here is the video. Bryson is getting pummeled for this, as he should. Quote
Deleterious Posted September 28, 2025 Posted September 28, 2025 Four matches left on the course. US up in 2 and 2 are tied. Europe only needs a half point to keep the cup. Quote
Mr.TaterSalad Posted September 28, 2025 Posted September 28, 2025 Congratulations to Team Europe on winning The Ryder Cup. I'm happy to see it. Quote

Hongbit Posted September 29, 2025 Author Posted September 29, 2025 Resilient comeback by Team USA. There are always decisions that can be second guessed like playing Morikawa/English twice despite analytics saying it was their worst possible pairing of 132 total possibilities. End of day, you can’t expect to win when your best player goes in all 5 matches and only scores 1 point. Amazing effort to make it that close really. Quote
Deleterious Posted December 2, 2025 Posted December 2, 2025 Not sure if everyone knows about Killer's Christmas. Tom Kowalski started the charity to provide presents for kids at Christmas, and some people have carried it on after he passed away. One of the things they do is a silent auction, tons of signed Detroit sports memorabilia and stuff like that. This year's auction includes a 4-some at Crystal Downs. Curious to see how much that goes for. 1 Quote

Giving back is always worth it. Edited December 2, 2025 by Hongbit Quote

Giving back is always worth it. Tried taking the girl to Arcadia this fall, and she wouldn't go. She said she isn't good enough for nice courses yet. I don't like 3 other people enough to spend that much money on them. None that golf, anyway. Not big on fancy golf myself. There are only 3 courses I really want to play. Augusta, Pebble, and St Andrews. She said she wants to take some golf vacations in a few years. So 2 of those 3 are possible. Quote
Deleterious Posted January 24 Posted January 24 Rumor is he isn't even the best player in his family. His younger brother, Game Improvement Brown, is supposed to be even better. Quote

Deleterious Posted January 26 Posted January 26 Didn't know Stoatin Brae was so highly rated. It's about 25 minutes from our house. I think I paid around $140 which is way too much to make it a regular thing. With dynamic pricing, you can catch some of the other courses at the resort for $50-$60. I like the two Stonehedge courses. Bedford Valley would be considered the cheap course in the group, but it's still pretty nice. Quote
Screwball Posted January 27 Posted January 27 I wouldn't complain about a 10 foot 3 putt right now. 1 Quote
Deleterious Posted February 13 Posted February 13 There ya go. We should all go in on it together. You get to stay there proportionate to the amount of money you put in. I claim June 13th, from 8:00 AM until June 13th, 8:05 AM for my time slot. https://www.movoto.com/pebble-beach-ca/3364-17-mile-dr-pebble-beach-ca-93953-100_ml81904361/ 1 Quote
Hongbit Posted February 15 Author Posted February 15 The listing history is crazy. I guess it just takes one person with stupid money to pay a stupid price. Quote
Hongbit Posted February 15 Author Posted February 15 Back in the day, AK was talked about as the only one that maybe had the talent level as Tiger. Never happened but great to see him do this. This is amazing even on LIV tour. Quote

The price jumps because this is new construction. It appears they tore down the $17 million shack and built this. 1 Quote
Deleterious Posted Wednesday at 03:35 AM Posted Wednesday at 03:35 AM The best part about being a terrible golfer. 36 holes over two days, and I'm already in mid-season form. 1 Quote

He would have loved that. We were too poor. Some guys I played with later in life talked about going out there and play it. Make it a vacation. Didn't, but sure wish I would have. I did get to play Inverness in Toledo, home of some big tournaments over the years. Incredible experience. I was there in 93 for the PGA practice round. Walked the entire course. Incredible golf course. Got to play it in 96 or 97 I think. 93 was the Azinger Norman sudden death playoff. It was neat to play the course and remember what these guys did, and from where. Short course, really. John Daly was bitching he couldn't hit his driver. It was a shot makers course. You didn't need to hit it 300 yards. Stay out of the rough - yanks the club out of your hand - and I wasn't playing in PGA conditions... You would never think in the medium size metropolis of Toledo a patch of land in the middle of it would be so hilly. Of course, IIRR, the street behind is Hill Ave. 🙂 The elevation level changes throughout the course is incredible and well used by one of the most famous course designers ever - Donald Ross.
