Great shot. I've talked to the local golf pro from our one and only country club quite a few times. He comes in our little $hithole bar. We both agree most people, including most golfers, don't realize how good these guys really are. This is another example. There are very few people in the world that can hit that shot.

thrill seeking behavior? Death wish? The big crash that messed him up the first time was pretty nuts, no sane person would have been trying to take the turn he did.

Drugs. This was in his system when he was arrested in 2017.

Golf star Tiger Woods had Vicodin, Dilaudid, Xanax, Ambien and THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) in his system when he was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence in May, according to a toxicology report released Monday.

I haven't followed either wreck, and I was not in the car. But...

If it is that sort of stuff, which sounds like pain killers. One must wonder if he has to do that to compete. He's no spring chicken. Body hurts. Need meds.

One of the best golfers to ever walk the planet, and without saying, they are all intense competitors. Do what you gotta do. Wasn't he going to try to play the Masters?

Yeah.  He was considering playing in the Masters but I don't think he had decided yet.

Speaking as someone who drove the RPV hills a lot, I agree 100%.

Incredible and sad to see. It's sad that both Tiger and JD's lives have been out of control at times. If Daly had Tiger's discipline when he was a younger man he could have been the best golfer on tour. Daly has all the natural talent in the world. It appears though that over the past decade, Tigers has little more discipline than Daly at this point.

The Masters released a searchable shot database.  It includes every shot in the final round from 1968-2025.  It requires an account to be made so I didn't get to try it out.

John Daly not only knocked the snot out of the ball, but some of the best hands around the greens I've ever seen. Incredible touch. His upside was huge. I'll bet he would be a ball to party with. 🙂

Tiger announced he is stepping away from golf for awhile. So he will miss the Masters. Not that it matters.
