duren is already a better shooter than ausar.  ausar will never be a good shooter.  he might one day achieve enough to be adequate, but i doubt it.

he does other stuff so well that you can live with it, but it will be hard to craft a lineup with him in it that doesnt have plus plus shooting at other spots.

so it is some kind of fast twitch/slow twitch thing where the super athletic guys  don't have the fine motor, or maybe just that the only way guys without fine motor make the NBA is extreme levels of fast twitch? Chicken, meet egg.  🤔

Sheed: "OK Jalen.  We are going to work on defending inbound plays.  I brought Robert Horry out to help me with this."

That last line is pretty good.

Journalists have targeted Ausar for all of their preseason puff pieces, it appears.

I've seen a couple of "Jalen Duren working on his jump shot" vids on various social media sites...season is just around the corner

Even Jalen is participating in the hype.

Trying to decide which I like less, him shooting more jumpers or him doing that messy Drummond dribble-drive thing he likes to do.

If his defensive numbers weren't trash when Ausar wasn't on the court, now that would be something.

1. Cade being top 5 in MVP - If enough guys get disqualified for not playing enough, sure.  But I don't think he is a top 5 player outright.  At least not yet.

2. Ausar finishes top 2 in steals for the entire league - I can easily see that happening.

3. Ausar finishes top 3 in MIP voting and gets some DPOY votes - See #2 answer

4. Robinson hits 300 3 pointers - They mention he hit 270 one year.  But he also shot 44% from three that year.  A number he hasn't come close to replicating.  I would probably lean no on this one.

5. Holland shoots 33% from three - A 10 point bump is pretty crazy, so I would bet no on this one.  But would love to see it.

6. Ivey averages 20 PPG - I would be shocked if he doesn't.

7. Duren averages 3 APG - He averaged 2.7 last year, so 3 isn't a crazy number.  He has the highest TO% on the team though.  Try cutting that down a bit.

ESPN wrote a trade guide article and listed 14 teams.  Detroit was not one of the 14 and was not mentioned in any possible trades from those 14.  The only mention of Detroit was the fact we have a trade exception to use.

Pistons end the half up 74-64.  They were behind by about 20 at one point, but really turned up the defensive effort.

Cade has 20/4/3 in 19 minutes.  I have to imagine he is done for the night.
